it’s a special Elephante Day!

Today the music is all around
as Elephantes’ trumpets sound
and greet the day for all to hear
with all their friends standing near.

They’ll stomp their feet
to the wonderful festival beat,
and snack on delicious food
that put everyone in a great mood.

New colors are released today
and Elephantes shout and say
how excited they are for new coats,
and wonder who will painted the most.

Today Elephantes are proud,
and they stand tall in the crowds.
They laugh and smile for all to see,
today is the best day, they all agree!

If you've ever met an Elephante
you know they're very kind.
In fact they're known for healing,
and are as generous as you can find.

What many do not seem to know,
is Elephantes love to party.
Any reason is good for them.
There is always an excuse to party hearty.

Oh boy, can they dance.
They are light on their toes.
Just don't let them step on yours.
(as everyone knows)  

They hoot and they holler.
They laugh and they sing.
They take great joy in celebrating
any darn thing.

They get wild and they get crazy.
They'll do anything for a cheer.
They're always up for antics,
but don't let them swing from the chandelier!

They're the light of every party.
(though they are not very light)
When the Elephantes head home,
it's time to call it a night.

You may need to repair a few chairs.
Replace rugs that have been cut.
Fix the chandeliers.
Sweep up the random peanut.

But it will be worth it.
You'll find that you agree.

I wonder what it could be,
maybe a bus, a boulder or a great big truck,
Whatever it is is I hope it is friendly,

The Shadow Elephante

All is silent on the hill,
Not a single sound is heard.
The eerie woods seem to stand still,
As does the nighttime bird.
A whisper breaks the tranquil night,
Hark! A howl, a mournful cry. 
A shadow moves within the black,
A glimpse of bloodshot eyes.

The shadow blends in darkness' cloak,
Its presence, cold and strife.
Reverberates around the woods,
Instilling terror in all life.
The shadow of the night has come!
The monster from ancient lore.
A creature that everyone feared,
One that no one saw. 

The shadow seeks what it has lost,
All those years ago.
A story that was lost in time,
A legacy untold. 
It recalls days of blissful love,
Turned into icy hate.
Of betrayal, of stolen life,
A condemned, bitter fate.

It searches for the life it lost,
To find its stolen soul.

But if you think they aren't graceful

With its large ears and fearsome roar

Elephante have such long trunks

They also have some large ears
To help quell any and all fears.

To make their looks more unique
Tiny details that look quite sweet
They have a pair of fluttering wings
