Happy Vandagyre Day!

Just left of Tyrannia, in the mountains up high
You will find the special Vandagyre flying in the sky.

While most are well mannered and quiet at first
They host fun tea parties that are sure to quench your thirst. 

They spend their days practicing fast flights and steep dives
And to warn others of danger they let out some panda-like cries.

The Vandagyres also enjoy gardening; the smell of flowers is so sweet.
They will plant flowers night or day, in the cold or in the heat.

A fun fact about the Vandagyres: they're new to the scene.
They made their debut to Neopia in 2014. 

And in case you haven't noticed, even though it's easy to see,
their name starts with a unique letter, it begins with a v.

So with their introduction to the world, Neopia noticed, I bet.
That now there's at least one neopet starting with every letter of the alphabet! 

So let's celebrate the Vandagyre species for being sweet, fun and bold.
For on November 15, their species turns three years old!!

Beginning in Year 16, Vandagyres everywhere said hello, 
As they made their presence known to joyous delight.
Our feathery friends descended from their mountain homes,
and joined the Neopets community in a future that’s bright.

It may have been just a coincidence, that they joined us in Storing,
But their love of nuts and gardening ensures that it was just right.
In fact, they love their gardens so much that within their yards,
a genteel and cheerful tea party is a common sight.

Vandagyres have large claws on their arms and feet, 
as well as large eyes that help them see in varying light.
While they are a fan of standing on their feet most of the time,
Vandagyre have shown us that they are capable of flight.

When surprised, Vandagyres often reference a feather,
But not just any feather – it’s one of much weight.
The Great Feather is sacred to most Vandagyres;
Don’t insult it unless you’re looking for a fight!

Known for their wisdom, Vandagyres enjoy reading
And, if asked, will share their thoughts and recite.
They can also be charitable and ask you for the same;
Kindness to others is never considered a blight.

As you can see, though they are new to the scene,
Vandagyres can provide us all with much insight.
So today, as we near the anniversary of Discovery Day,
Take the time to enjoy the Vandagyres’ highlight.

All About Vandagyres

Vandagyres have been around for years,
But only recently came down to see
What was happening in Neopia,
And how much fun those things could be.

They're wise and calm, and ever curious.
They're always up for a few good reads,
Or often you can find them gardening
Planting flowers and pulling weeds.

Their wide eyes are great for seeing,
And they know more than they show.
Even though they hid for years,
They're friendly and often say "hello."

Nuts are their favorite food,
Their passion for the snack has no end.
Mixed nuts, peanuts, and roasted chesnuts,
Or their own assorted and approved blend.

If you're looking for the perfect pet
To relax with and share a cup of tea,
You'll be glad vandagyres came down from the mountains.
Adopt one, and you'll easily agree.

Marks the fateful discovery
Of the Vandagyre – Hooray!

These cute little fellows
Come in a variety of colors
Like Faerie, Chocolate, & Yellow!

They live up high
Among the Mountains
And soar amongst the sky.

They love to quickly fly
& complete steep dives!
Plus they’re friendly little guys!

They love a good tea party,
Spend their free time gardening,
And will share a laugh that’s hearty!

So hooray, hooray!

There is a special Neopet,

Vandagyre's look just like an owl, 
And move with nothing but grace.

The Many Traits of the Vandagyre

Fast in flight, steep in dive,
These aerial acrobatics live for fame.
Vandagyres forever strive,
To make daring deeds a game.

Kind in manner, gracious as host,
These birds are a wonderful treat!
But you’ll never hear them boast,
Of any of their many feats.

Sharp of beak, long of claw,
These pets make fearsome allies.
Vandagyres are held in awe,
For their harsh battle cries.

Chubby of face, furry of cheek,
These birds resemble bears.
But don’t get on the wrong side of their beak,
As they always travel in pairs!

Quiet of voice, soft of feather,
These owlish creatures love to drink tea.
But when they all flock together,
On taste, they never seem to agree.

Short of stature, silly of name,
These birds are a little absurd.
But no two are ever the same,
You can take them at their word!

Cuddly of look, large of eye,
These guys are incredibly cute!
But, come on now, don’t be shy,
As friends, they have no substitute.

Vandagyre Day

Today we celebrate,
one of the newest species we know.
It is Vandagyre Day,
and today our love for them really does show.

Vandagyre themed items,
are as far as the eye can see.
New ones are coming out today too,
I wonder what they will be.

Many are hoping for more Vandagyre wearables,
like shoes and embellishments for the face.
As well as hats,
and pretty dresses made of lace.

New Vandagyre paint brush colors,
will be released today too.
I am hoping for Woodland, Eventide or Island,
even Stealthy or Water would do.

Since Vandagyres are one of the newest species,
there are so many colors new colors they could possibly get.
They have the least amount of color options available,
there isn't even a Pink Vandagyre yet.

The new colors,
are what everyone is most excited for.
I cant wait to see what fun things,
today has in store!
