14th January - Sloth Appreciation Day!
- Sloth fans all over Neopia will be rejoicing as everyone cheers for good old Slothy. Ok, so he is
a bad guy, but for some bizarre reason you just can't help liking him!
- To start off, the Book Shop has all kinds of
new Sloth themed tomes on sale.
- This week's Neohome Spotlight award has been given to
Tarrus_2000 for their lovely home 48450 Aisha Avenue, Neopia Central.
- There is a new Sloth themed Background for you to
adorn your desktop with.
- As Elephante Day is on a Sunday this year, we will be extending the celebrations for an extra day.
Cap'n Threelegs will be giving free training to Elephantes all
day Sunday and Monday, so make sure you pay him a visit or two.
- What better way to celebrate Dr Sloth than to munch on some of these delicious new
Sloth Appreciation Day Foods?
- Four new Sloth themed Shopkeepers have just been released.
- The 173rd edition of the Neopian Times has just been released.

Caption Contest.
- A new Beauty Contest is about to begin, make sure you take the time
to cast your votes.

- Auction Update
We have changed the way auctions work slightly to prevent last minute auction sniping. Now rather than the exact time remaining, it
will say Very Long, Medium or Short for the time left, rather the exact minutes remaining.
- The first ever User Lookup of the Week award has been given to Confuzerated. This contest
will now run every Wednesday!
- The Book Shop in Brightvale
has got all kinds of new books in stock including Potion Making, Tales of Bravery and All About Glass.
- Well done Felana, you have just won this week's Petpet Spotlight
competition.
- Ahhhhh! Its a super spooky Ghost Koi!
- If you are a big fan of Florg, you should pay Rubiadiosa1's Gallery Spotlight
winning shop - Petpets for Dinner a visit.
- Your Neopet can now learn to play the Kau Bells, Pan Pipes and Castanets! Hurry to the

- There is a new Mystery Pic competition. The
answer to the last one was the Gadgadsgame Playbutton. 514 people guessed the correct answer, earning 3,892 NP each.
- A new Caption Contest has just begun. If your entry is
selected, your could win between 5,000 and 10,000 NP!!!
- This week's Meridell Castle Spotlight award has
been given to Waloldar for their level - Final Run.
- The Kreludan Food Shop has four new
delights for you to taste.
- There are some new pictures in the Art Gallery for you to look at.
11th January - Buzz Day!
- To start off this rather special day in style, Buzzes can now be painted Royal!
- Today we are implementing a new way to deal with people who break
certain Terms and Conditions. If you break more minor rules,
your account may only be SUSPENDED for up to 72 hours (rather than
frozen completely). During your suspension you will not have access to
any part of your account. After the suspension period is over, your
account will be returned to you.
That said, depending on your account history and which rule you break,
you could still get frozen immediately (a "suspension" is not
"automatic"), and you WILL be frozen for breaking the rules more than
once. Hopefully this "second chance" will make things more
understandable and fairer for everyone.
We have another new feature going into place today, too. Our monitors
now have the ability to "lock" topics on the Neoboards. This means you
may see some topics with a lock icon and the reason the topic was locked
posted next to them. It'd be a good idea to use these locked topics as
a refresher course on our Terms and Conditions so you don't end up
suspended or frozen. ;) (Of course, anyone posting topics simply to
get them locked will be frozen. Intentionally distracting our monitors
from people who are *really* breaking the rules will be not be
tolerated.)
- If you head to the Collectable Card Shop you
may be lucky enough to get one of these new Buzz Avenger cards.
