17th, 18th, and 19th January
- Server Update! - Greetings Neopia, we have returned! It looks like we were able to implement our plan for server migration. Hooray! The site is now back, but we will still be working behind the scenes over the weekend to make sure everything is running optimally. In the meantime though, we hope that you will experience a much faster Neopets.com.
Please note, that although our main work is complete, we will be focusing on having a few more smaller site maintenance windows in the upcoming days and weeks. We will make sure to let you know in advance once we have set dates and times.
- Monday is a holiday here in the USA so there will be no news on that day. We will return to our regularly scheduled programme on Tuesday, so see you then! Have a great weekend, everyone! :)

15th January
- Site Downtime Update - Hello again! As mentioned earlier this week, we are planning on taking down the site to move our servers in order to combat our lag issues. Neopets.com will be unavailable tomorrow (1/15) from 9:00 PM NST to 9:00 AM the next day (1/16). We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause, but we also hope to have a smoothly running site when we return. Please check our official Facebook and Twitter pages for updates during this downtime. Thanks!
- Feeling snowed in? Reading these new books from the Magical Bookshop can teach you the art of sleeping in, or some great wintery crafts. What a way to make the time fly by!

- Find out all about 'Dr. Sloth's New Alliance', which just happens to be simbologies's winning User Lookup of the Week.
- Sloth items are creeping into the Neopian economy, one shop at a time. It looks like the Magical Bookshop, Neopian Health Foods, Neopian Gift Shop, and Plushie Palace shopkeepers need to be warned about the dangers of stocking Sloth goods.
- This week's Gallery Spotlight winner by licorice_ice is 'Fruity-Luscious'!
- This week's brand new Caption Contest image teaches a valuable lesson about Petpet care.
- There is a new Mystery Pic competition. The answer to the last one was Fire Stones. 125 people guessed correctly, earning them 16,000 NP each.

13th January
- Downtime and Site Lag Update: Hello! We wanted to give an update on the site lag and some downtime that will be coming up this week. We think we have uncovered where the root of the site lag is coming from and have a plan set out to implement some fixes. In the next week or so we will be updating our site servers and optimizing our databases. We just wanted to give you a head's up -- so if you see the site acting strange in the next week, it probably is because of us. We are expecting to have some significant site downtime sometime this week but will update everyone with more info, as we have it. Hopefully by next week we can celebrate when Neopets.com is running normally again! (We will cross our fingers until then...) As always, we thank you so much for your patience. We really hope that we can finally get these lag issues fixed so that we can focus on getting you fresh content for the future. Thanks again, everyone!
