5 Next-Level Goals to Achieve

by sugarxcoma

--------

So, you've completed all the more basic goals of Neopia: you have your pets painted and customized just how you like them, you have access to the Secret Lab Ray, and you have the "Ultimate Riches!" bank account type. So what comes next? Here we have compiled a list of some of Neopia's more difficult yet reasonably achievable goals, as well as some tips for achieving them!

     1. Gourmet Club Honorary Member Award

A lot of people assume this is a goal that is much too expensive and difficult to take on. While all the gourmet items you'll need can certainly add up, it isn't quite as expensive as people tend to think. If you start gourmet feeding soon, you will probably need to spend about 20 million Neopoints at the most. Currently, to get on the Gourmet Club high score table (which is what gets you the honorary award), you'll need to feed over 935 unique gourmet foods. 20 million NP should get you all the way to 1000 unique foods, so it's likely you won't need to spend that much as long as you start soon and feed as frequently as possible!

Most of the difficulty in achieving this goal comes from needing to feed your pet so regularly, if you want to complete it in a timely manner (and you should, so you won't need to buy quite as much food). You will want your pet's hunger level to go down all the way to "dying", and then feed one gourmet item every 65 minutes or longer. This will keep your pet's hunger level at "starving", but if you feed too soon, it might go up to "famished", and then you'll have to wait for it to come back down before feeding again.

Three more quick tips about gourmet feeding! Try to avoid having your gourmet pet as your active pet. Visiting the Healing Springs or TDMBGPOP can raise your pet's hunger level, which you want to avoid! Also, you shouldn't have your gourmet pet be the same as your battle pet, because a starving Neopet won't feel up for battling. And finally, give restocking food shops a try! You might be able to get a lot of the more expensive items which can save you lots of NP!

     2. Game Trophies

Don't you think it's time you had more than just a few game trophies on your user lookup? There are some good guides out there for tips on how to snag yourself the easiest game trophies, but you can always branch out and add even more to your collection! Try to figure out what the less popular games are and look up game guides for tips to improve your high scores, then practice practice practice! Of course you can always simply work on improving your scores on games that are already your favorites, too. Remember that the best time to try to get trophies is on the first day of the month, after the high score tables reset.

     3. Galleries

Galleries are a really fun way to collect items, organize them, and show them off. Perhaps you already have a gallery that you're working on (or even completed), but did you know that you can have more than one gallery? You are allowed to have galleries on side accounts, which means that you're allowed to have as many as five galleries! Actually, you could have even more than that if you want to use categories to make multiple galleries on one account.

The Gallery Spotlight award is a good reason to work on completing a gallery, but they're also really fun to have without having to worry about competing for the award! For instance, I have a gallery of plushies that I find especially cute. A plushie gallery isn't anything unique, and certain plushies are extremely rare and expensive so my gallery will never be complete, but I still absolutely love collecting them and showing off all the different kinds I have! Just do whatever makes you happy!

Tips: If you're starting a gallery on a side account, you can use the Trading Post to transfer your Neopoints from your main account to your side so you can pay for space upgrades. Also, be sure to make a wishlist to keep track of the items you still need to get for your gallery. And finally, don't worry about NeoCash items! They are not necessary to make your gallery complete. Just think of them as bonus items.

     4. Booktastic Book Honorary Award

With a little work, this is a very obtainable goal to go after, and it shows you put in a lot of effort to make your pet smart! Currently, for your pet to snag a spot on the high score table, it will have to read either 146 or 147 Booktastic books. As long as your pet isn't too picky about what books they read, this won't be too expensive at all! You may not even have to buy any r99 books, and you certainly won't have to buy any r100 books. You probably won't have to spend much more than 10 million Neopoints for this award, and you can lower that amount by trying out restocking in the Booktastic Books shop, to try and snag some of the more expensive books.

Tip: Because your pet's pickiness depends on the length of their name, it's probably best to have a pet with a longer name be your Booktastic pet, because they tend to be less picky! Now is the time for Peachesandcream111142 the Yellow Lupe to shine. ;)

     5. Creative Contests

The Art Gallery, Poetry Gallery, and Storytelling Competition are all really fun contests you could try your hand at! Don't stress if you feel like you don't have the talent to even bother entering, because you may surprise yourself. With some effort, anyone can win! Not only will your work be featured, you will also win a shiny new trophy for your lookup, some Neopoints, and a prize! The creative contest prize pool currently consists of a lot of really great items, including paint brushes and super rare petpets. A little Weewoo told me that the prizes will be getting an update soon, which will probably make entering these contests even more tempting!

For the Art Gallery and Poetry Gallery, you may want to keep an eye on the calendar to see what pet days, holidays, and other special events are coming up soon, which may inspire you to write or draw something to fit the theme.

Remember to not be discouraged if you don't win the first time you submit something. Just keep trying! It doesn't mean you're not good enough. It means there's a lot of other Neopians out there who are submitting their best work as well, and there can only be so many winners!

These are only five ideas for things you can work to accomplish, but never forget that Neopia is a big world full of lots of other goals to strive for and projects to work on! We wish you the best of luck with whatever you hope to achieve!
