Brynettia's Book Reviews, Part Two

     Didja miss me? Hi, it’s Brynettia again! A while ago, I wrote an article about some books I had read recently. Since then, I’ve read lots more books, so I thought it was finally time for me to come back and share my opinions on them! These are just a small fraction of the books I’ve read lately in my quest to read everything in Neopia, but hopefully it’ll inspire you to pick up a new book today! And of course, I have to thank my owner golden1188 for buying me all these great books to read. Here we go!

     Grundo Surf Manual: My family and I have been spending a lot of time on Mystery Island lately, and you can only play so many games of Mynci Beach Volleyball before you go crazy! So while I was there, I decided to pick up a copy of this book and see if I could teach myself to surf with it. Although the book had tips more geared towards Grundos, I think anyone can learn a thing or two from it. However, since they’re on two legs and I’m on four, I had to adapt the instructions a bit to fit me. Overall, despite my struggling, I think I got the hang of the basics of surfing! Maybe next time I can find a manual for Gelerts? I give this book five stars out of ten, but I’d probably rate it higher if I was a Grundo!

     JubJub Pop-Up Book: This book is normally geared towards a younger audience, like where my reading level would be if I wasn’t reading all the time! I found it in my classroom at school and finished it within five minutes. It’s just a short book about a bunch of JubJubs playing together. The story doesn’t have any substance, but I’ll admit the pop-up pictures were pretty to look at! If you have a baby pet at home who’s just learning how to read, I’d recommend reading this together with them! I’m sure they’d like it. I give this book a three out of ten. Not fulfulling, but I like the pretty pictures.

     More Than Carrot Cake: My owner is always encouraging me to eat healthier, so she gave me this book in hopes that it would inspire me to eat carrots more often. I guess I do make visits to the Chocolate Factory a little too often! I went into the book thinking that I wouldn’t like any of the recipes, but when my owner and I tried a few out together, I actually found myself enjoying them! We were even able to sneak carrots into some dishes and my siblings didn’t even know! I’d recommend trying the carrot popsicles first. I know they sound weird, but they’re tasty! I give this book an eight out of ten.

     Bruce Carols: During the holiday season, I got this because I wanted to learn some new songs to sing along to. Who better to learn from than Bruces? A lot of them are incredible singers, so it doesn’t surprise me to know that there’s a whole book of holiday tunes by them. I taught some of the songs to my siblings and we had a great time singing them together. Not all of my siblings are great singers (you know who you are) but the lyrics were easy to read and the music wasn’t hard to follow along with. The book comes with a CD that you can listen to if you’re having trouble getting the tune right! I hope they put out another book of carols next year. I give this book an eight out of ten as well! Lots of highly rated books this time around.

     Quiggle Work Out: Speaking of highly rated books, this one? Not so much. I read this book really just to add it to my book total and say that I read it, but it felt like it took me years! Whereas the Grundo book I mentioned earlier has a few good tips for everyone, this book is directed towards Quiggles and no one else. I tried to do a few of the exercises myself, but I couldn’t do them. My body just wouldn’t move the right way! If you’re a Quiggle, I’m sure this book would be helpful for you. Sadly, I’m not a Quiggle and I don’t even know any Quiggles, so this book is not for me. I have to give this one out of ten stars. Sorry!

     Know Your Motes: I’ve never stepped foot into the Battledome and have no plans to anytime soon, so I don’t know the first thing about motes. However, my Eyrie sister recommended this book to me, saying that she’s used motes before in the Battledome and that I might like to at least learn about them. I didn’t have any expectations going into the book, so I’m surprised that I did get some enjoyment out of it. Some parts of the book didn’t apply to me since they were about the different techniques for using them in battle, but I liked reading all of the facts and history about them! I think my favorite was the Ee Mote. There’s just something about it that’s so funny! I heard there was a plushie of this mote, so I think I might try to get it! I give this book a six out of ten.

     Rainbow Fountain Secrets: Last but most certainly not least, my favorite book I’ve read this year! I’ve never been to the Rainbow Fountain before and I’m not interested in going. (I like the way I look!) But the Fountain Faerie is someone who’s interested me before. Where does she get the magic from? How do the waters work? Is there anything you can’t change into? I had to dig right into this book the second I got it. Boy, I wasn’t disappointed! I won’t spoil it for you, but the Fountain Faerie answered every last question I had in this great book. She seems so nice, I hope maybe I can meet her someday just to tell her what a big fan of hers I am! Trust me, you don’t want to miss out on reading this! I give it ten stars out of ten, one of the very few books I think is perfect from start to finish!
