The Best (and Worst) Places to Sleep!

by aka892

--------

*Yawns* Welcome to a very sleepy guide on the best (and worst) places to sleep! This article was written during the Month of Sleeping for maximum sleepiness, but I believe naps are an all-year-round type of thing. Bonus points if you take a sip of Borovan every time I say the word "sleep" :) This is not an exhaustive list, just a list of some places around Neopia that looked comfy or interesting. Let me know if your Pets have tried sleeping in any of these places and what they thought of them! Now, in no particular order...

     1. Cockroach Towers (Neopia Central)

A favourite of vacationing Pets and Neopoint-pinchers alike, the Cockroach Towers is definitely a good option if you're on a budget. At just 5 NP a night, your Neopet can stay in a spacious crate about as big as a cardboard box... with all the roaches they can eat!

     2. Coffee Cave (Roo Island)

Somewhere in Roo Island lies a little cafe by the name of the Coffee Cave. There are plenty of tables to sit at, or sleep on. You can even grab some coffee or tea after your nap for an extra caffeine boost! This is the place to sleep if you need a boost of energy after a long day working at the Faerieland Employment Agency.

     3. Brightvale Books (Brightvale)

Perhaps the next quietest place to a library would be a book store such as Brightvale Books! With a very calm atmosphere and lots of books to bore you to sleep (or keep you up all night reading!), you can't really go wrong with this one. The shopkeeper might get mad if you nap too long in his store, though, so maybe not a place for long nappers.

     4. Illusen's Glade (Meridell)

Illusen probably wouldn't mind if you took a nap under one of the trees near her glade... She is, after all, the more peaceful faerie out of the Illusen-Jhudora duo. You could even do one of her quests before you go to sleep to give you lots to dream about! Just watch out for all the Petpetpets crawling around, or you might wake up with lots of itchy bites.

     5. Haunted House (Haunted Woods)

If your Pet is daring enough (and doesn't mind a few ghosts floating around) perhaps you could try sleeping at the Haunted House in the Haunted Woods. There's nothing like a good ghost story to lull your Pet into a truly terrifying nightmare... You could also try rescuing the Pets trapped within, but beware of long winding corridors and some very real monsters!

     6. Faerie Furniture (Faerieland)

What better place to sleep than a furniture store full of beds made from clouds? The Air Faerie that runs the shop would be happy to help you find the best mattress Neopoints can buy, as long as you don't leave empty-handed! Make sure to give it a good test, too. Napping here is sure to fill your Pet's head with sweet dreams.

     7. Emergency Supplies (Lost Desert)

Visiting the Lost Desert, but forgot to pack? No worries, just sleep in the Emergency Supplies shop tent in Sakhmet! You'll have all the medicine, blankets, and eye drops you could possibly need for a good nap. It is quite hot in Sakhmet, however, so make sure to bring lots of water to keep hydrated!

     8. Kelp (Maraqua)

If your Pet likes sleeping with the Goldies, why not rest in a restaurant? Kelp is known for its hospitality, and would probably let you nap as long as you bought food first! It is a bit pricey, so this is maybe not an option for Pets on a budget. Just be sure they can breathe underwater, or it will have to be a very short nap indeed!

     9. The Beach (Mystery Island)

The beach is a classic spot to catch some rays and sleep the day away. Bring a towel, some sunscreen and perhaps an umbrella for some shade and you're all set to sleep! Slipping away into dreamland on the warm sand as the waves crash in the background, it couldn't get much better than this!

     10. Tyrammet Village (Tyrannia)

Need a nice, warm, tropical location to catch some Zs? Tyrammet Village in Tyrannia has you covered. There's plenty of huts to hang out in, meet the locals and take a nice long nap in! As long as you don't mind sleeping on a straw bed on a dung floor, your pet will be napping in no time. Maybe bring along a book like Speak Tyrannian if they're not fluent in Tyrannian dialect.

     11. Restive Tomb (Altador)

Surely a place like the Restive Tomb would be perfect for resting, right? Only if you like Gelatinous Non-Cubes roaming around your napping spot! Even if you can get past the mummified jelly, the bones lining the shelves might scare you off before you can find a spot to lay down. This is maybe more of a resting place for Ghost Neopets, but it is where the Sleeper constellation was found long ago, so I just had to include it in this article.

     12. Lunar Temple (Shenkuu)

This is where a wise old Gnorbu lives and keeps track of the Shenkuu lunar calendar. Should your Pet pass the challenge, I'm sure he'd be fine with them stopping and resting inside the temple. The Gnorbu has lots of stories to tell and would love the company. Most Pets leave after getting their prize, so he's a bit lonely these days. Best of all, he hangs constellation maps and charts all around the temple so you can rest with the starry skies above you.

And that's it! That's all the places my Pets have tried personally, at least. I can't speak for somewhere like Moltara or Terror Mountain, but to each their own! If you have another favourite napping spot feel free to let me know, I'm running out of places to get kicked out of... (Don't worry, I'm half-joking.) Sweet dreams!
