 Petpet Name: Sapphire Owner: ghost_spyder Pet Name: Josephean Breed: Blue Gathow About Sapphire: It’s not easy being the petpet of a potion maker. Being in the immediate vicinity of your owner at all times and being unable to complain, you often find yourself the lucky first one to test out the effect of your owner’s newest concoctions, some of which have some rather unsavory effects. I suppose it wouldn’t be so bad for me if my owner, Josephean, was actually a skilled master at the art of potion making. Unfortunately, however, my poor owner tends to be somewhat of a scatter brain. She’s always adding too much or too little of some ingredient, so her potions always wind up having something wrong with them. As a matter of fact, she’s directly responsible for the infamous transmogrification potions that have plagued Neopia ever since their creation! When she tried to put them up for sale, no one wanted to buy them except for the one and only Dr. Sloth. She eagerly sold them to him, and the rest is history. Some of the other potions she created and tested out on me have done everything from temporarily changing the color of my fur to making me sprout extra appendages. The most recent of her erroneous creations even turned me into a mortog! Luckily, the effects of her potions always ware off in about a week, so I always end up my normal blue gathow self in the end. I suppose this is a good thing; had I remained a mortog much longer someone might have mistakenly tried to kiss me, thinking I would turn into a prince or something. Blech! But my job as a test subject isn’t all bad. Sometimes Josephean actually manages to make something useful, believe it or not! Once, while she was trying to make a potion that would give any pet who drank it a boost in stats, she wound up mistakenly making a healing potion that cured any pet who drank it of any disease! However, in her excitement, she accidently dropped the potion flask of miraculous liquid onto the floor, where it promptly shattered, and her discovery was, unfortunately, lost. Some of her better potions have also given me levels, which have come in very handy in the petpet battle arena. All in all, it’s not completely horrible being a potion maker’s petpet. Sure, it can be bothersome when I get turned into a mortog or a slorg, but I always find myself eager to see what the most recent of her concoctions will do. Maybe one of these days her potions will turn me into a Kadoatie or something with wings! Until then, however, I guess I’ll just be content with helping Josephean test out her- Oh no! I can hear a horrible hissing and splattering noise coming from Josephean’s room! I expect she’s just finished one of her potions again, and I think this one sounds like one of her mistakes. And that means that any second she’ll be calling for me so I can help her test it out. Well, I have to go now, but feel free to pop in for a visit anytime! Or perhaps not, Josephean may very well give you one of her potions to test out, and potion testing is better left to professionals like myself. See you later!
