About Drop:
-gets ready to pounce-

Hiya I am Aunexe the camouflage kougra! Do you wanna play with me? … No? … You want to hear about Drop, my whoot? …. Well, alright, it is a pretty funny story on how he came to be with me. I suppose I could tell you that.

-picks up Drop by the neck with her mouth and sets down in front of you-

Well, one day last autumn, my mum and I were accumulating a large pile of leaves for me play with. They were so pretty. Red, brown, orange, and green. Fall leaves are so much fun to jump into! There was a slight breeze, but the leaves seemed to stay in place pretty well. We developed quite a large pile underneath one of the giant trees in our neohome yard.

One, two, three! I jumped into the colorful pile. I vanished under the leaves and when I crawled to the top, my mum was smiling at me. I crawled back out and jumped again. I popped my head out of the leaves. Then suddenly, I heard a noise that sounded like “drop” coming from the tree above me and something knocked into my head. The little thing bounced off my head, into the big pile of leaves. I glared at the spot, wondering what would bump into me like that, when this little tiny bird-like creature crawled out from the leaves.

Immediately, I crouched into a pounce. But then, the little brownish creature looked up at me and simply said, “Whoot!” That’s all it took. I broke out into a hysterical laugh. I fell on to my back, rolling in the leaves, laughing. The thing just WHOOTED at me! I batted at him with my paw and he inched closer.

“Whoot,” he said again. I playfully pawed at him.

“Whoot.”

I giggled. Then, I looked at my mum and asked if I could keep him. She walked over and picked the little thing up.

“He was hard to see in all of those leaves. Kind of like you, Aunexe,” she said. “Where did you come from little guy?”

“Whoot,” the creature said, fluffing his feathers.

I grinned

“What is wrong with him? Doesn’t he talk?” my mum asked.

“Of course he TALKS, mum, he just did,“ I said. “Please?” I begged her to let me keep him.

She grinned at me and the little brown ball of feathers, and said it was okay to keep him. She set him down, and I pounced on him.

“Whoot! Whoot!”

“Make sure you’re not TOO rough with him, Aunexe,” my mum chastised. Me, rough? NEVER!

I decided to name him Drop after the funny noise he made when he fell from the tree. Drop bounced up and down and gave me another little “Whoot!” We have been best friends ever since. I know its kind of silly for a kougra and a whoot to be playmates, but we don’t mind.

-knocks Drop over with her massive paw-

“Whoot,” Drop said.

Isn’t he just hilarious? Well, that’s how Drop and I met… Now you wanna play?

-pounces-
