 Petpet Name: Animosh Owner: mamasimios Pet Name: GitchiManitou Breed: Ghost Droolik About Animosh: You may have heard about my owner, GitchiManitou. He’s a Krawk who was lucky enough to have had some of his adventures published in the Neopian Times. Sometimes he gets fanmail telling him how brave he must have been, what a hero, what a blah blah blah. I’m not denying that it took strength and courage to complete Fyora’s Quest, but whoever chronicled those adventures left out a very important part of that story: me. And do you know who never gets an extra scratch behind the ears for the effort? Me! I have been GM’s loyal and uncomplaining companion for a very long time now, accompanying him everywhere: through his long months of banishment in the Ice Caves, his relocation to the woods of Brightvale, and his travels across all of Neopia searching for the secret artifacts the Faerie Queen requested of him. Not only did I stay by his side during times of deprivation and danger, but I did so while constantly being pestered by the Mootix he insisted upon attaching to me. I mean, I understand wanting the avatar, but why can’t he buy a can of Pest-B-Gone now? I mean, really? Oh no, sometimes just thinking about that Mootix makes me itchy. Excuse me while I scratch. So anyway, his part in the Quest is well documented, but I thought that I could share with you the pivotal role that I, Animosh the Devoted Droolik, played. When GitchiManitou began his travels from Brightvale to Meridell, I tagged along, as I am wont to do. Happily I scampered ahead, sniffing the tree trunks along the way and scratching my Mootix bites by rolling in the loose dirt. With a wagging tail and a lolling tongue, I explored the path and was the first to come upon a strange hole in the ground. Being a very curious Droolik, I cautiously approached it, sniffing the ground and recognizing the unmistakable scent of Symol. Intrigued, I sniffed right up to the very edge of the hole, and being uncontrollably excited, I dove right in with my eyes open! I jumped back out of that hole a few seconds later, and do you know what I had in my mouth? I had found a buried bone! I was now so very excited, because I knew that GitchiManitou had been commanded to find three hidden items of great power, and I happily carried the bone back to my Master. When he discovered that I had earned him the Symol avatar, he patted my head and told me that I was a good boy, but I wasn’t going to just take that praise and run away. No way, not me. I whined and panted until that Krawk noticed the bone that I was drooling all over, and then finally, carefully, he took it from my mouth. He held it in his hands, examined it closely, and I guess he decided it was too special to give to Fyora because he threw it into the woods at the side of the path. Of course I went and fetched it and brought it back to him to throw again. We passed a very pleasant afternoon this way as we continued on our travels. And now you know my story too. Can you believe no one wrote that down before? Well, I guess you would believe it, just look at the lame picture someone drew to accompany this. No one ever remembers to commemorate the petpets properly. I mean, really!
