 Petpet Name: Ryousei Owner: oceandragon35 Pet Name: Rhielei Breed: Searex About Ryousei: The Blue Peophin cautiously picks her way down the stony route to the secluded beach for the first time in many months. She cannot wait to feel the luxurious gentle tugging and caressing of the water on her body, for this is her favorite place in the whole of Neopia. She does not notice the little petpet, way out on the waves, staring at her with longing in his eyes. The Peophin reaches the beach and with a joyous neigh jumps in, throwing up a giant splash. Now she is content. With powerful flips of her tail, she begins to swim eastwards. She does not expect a small green petpet to begin to follow her, struggling his hardest to catch up with her powerful swimming. She does not expect a sudden tugging, nibbling sensation on her ear, nor a persistent, birdlike squeaking. Turning gracefully in mid-swim, she pulls the little anomaly off to discover a little Searex clinging to her and squeaking for all he is worth. She pats his head uncertainly, and a wriggle runs down his length. He is quite cute –lime green fins and all- and is slightly pudgy, but she feels drawn to him at once. For the rest of her swim that day, he accompanies her, swimming alongside her and playing with her. And she responds in kind, giving him pats and talking to him about her life, for she has been lonely for a long while. And for a while, she feels like she has a friend. The sky darkens and regretfully, the Peophin wades to shore. The little Searex gazes after her with confused brown eyes. Why is she leaving? Why won’t she stay? The Peophin is almost heartbroken to have to leave the little Petpet behind, but she knows her mother would not allow it. Would never allow it. And she must obey. And thus she struggles back up the beach, back up the stony old path, trying her hardest not to look back and to stem the flow of tears she knows are coming. She may never see the little Searex again. But then again comes the persistent squeaking, and there is the little fellow waddling up the path towards her, scraping his soft belly on the harsh stones but apparently not noticing for wanting to follow her. Her. The tears begin to flow freely from the Peophin’s hazel eyes. She knows now that she wants this little petpet with her very heart and soul, and she will fight to keep him till the very end. She leaps forward, scooping up the little Petpet in her arms, and he proudly sits on her shoulder all the way home. From now on, he is hers and she is his, and they will stay that way for the rest of forever. Today, many months later, the Peophin and Petpet, now named Ryousei, still go swimming down by that lonely beach. They reminisce about the time they met; he with squeaks and she with her voice and yet they understand each other perfectly. Such is the bond of friendship – and if you have a pet, or a petpet, you will definitely understand.
