Petpet Name: Woobie
Owner: snowdenofyesteryear
Pet Name: Amor_Fati
Breed: Snoogy

About Woobie:
It was Amor_Fati's first day at her new job on the Space Station. She was a mechanic, and it was her job to fix anything that was wrong with the Space Station. And after Dr. Sloth's return and defeat, there was no shortage of damage to be repaired.

"Amor_Fati, huh?" grunted a purple Grundo, peering at her from behind his clipboard.

"You can call me Ami," she replied, somewhat more curtly than necessary.

"Right. Well, welcome to the Space Station. As you can probably tell, there's a lot that needs fixing up here. You'll be stationed on sublevel 6-A today; we need you to check the integrity of the ventilation ducts and repair any damage that you find. Think you can handle that?" The Grundo looked at her expectantly.

Ami nodded. "Of course I can."

"Great," the Grundo said, "go on, and come back here when you've finished the job."

Ami turned to leave, then realised that she didn't know how to get to sublevel 6-A. She hesitated for a moment, not wanting to admit to the surly Grundo that she didn't know her way.

"Elevator to level six, third tunnel on your right," the Grundo called after her.

"Thanks!" Ami called over her shoulder.

"You'll know your way around soon enough," the Grundo yelled at her down the hallway. "Oh, and watch out for the --"

The end of the sentence was cut off as the elevator doors pinged shut. Ami frowned to herself. Did he just say 'watch out for the' something? What could there possibly be to watch out for?

Ami reached the ventilation ducts, only getting lost twice. She tossed her toolbox in ahead, then climbed in behind it. She climbed steadily along, checking each nut, bolt, and control panel. There were a few loose screws here and there, but overall the ducts seemed to be fine. Then she heard a noise.

Ami froze. What if the ducts were about to collapse under her robotic weight? The noise grew louder, and she realised it was a scurrying sound heading toward her. Ami braced herself for whatever may happen. The scurrying was now right around the corner. Time seemed to freeze as an ominous shadow loomed...

...and gave way to a small, sad-looking Petpet. Ami laughed loudly, unable to believe that she had been scared of such an adorable thing. Her laugh echoed loudly in the duct, startling the Petpet, which jumped back, poised to run away.

"Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you!" Ami cooed to the little creature, holding out one hoof to it.

The Petpet inched closer, sniffing the air before retreating behind Ami's toolbox. Ami sighed.

"I'm not going to hurt you, really," she said, but the Petpet just eyed her suspiciously.

Ami figured that there was nothing she could do about the thing, which seemed to be clinging to her toolbox for dear life. Shrugging, she continued her work. There was another loose screw near her head, so she reached back toward her toolbox for a screwdriver, but the tool met her hoof halfway to the toolbox. She looked back, surprised. The Petpet was holding her screwdriver out to her with the same sad look on his face.

With a confused look, Ami took the screwdriver. "How did you..." she started, then shrugged it off. Obviously it was a coincidence, the Petpet couldn't really know what tool she needed... could he?

As the day went on, the Petpet always knew what tool Ami needed to complete her job. By the end of the day, he was acting like he had always been Ami's Petpet. With her new friend perched on her shoulder, Ami headed back to report to the purple Grundo.

"Look out!" the Grundo shrieked as Ami approached. "There's a Snoogy on your shoulder!"

"What? But... he's harmless!" Ami said, confused.

The Grundo stopped. "How did you get it to do that? That thing has been harassing my mechanics for ages!"

"I guess he just likes me," Ami said, smiling.

"Well, you can keep it then, providing you keep it under control," the Grundo conceded.

"I think I'll call him... Woobie," Ami said, stroking her new Petpet's head.

And from that day on, wherever you find Ami, you will find her trusty helper, Woobie the Snoogy.
