Petpet Name: Philophrosyne
Owner: qwerfvtgb
Pet Name: Emirillia
Breed: Hermiteese

About Philophrosyne:
"Philly, darling, fetch me some orange and purple paint for my picture," I called, twirling the wet paintbrush in my hands.

The Hermiteese crossed the floor of my art studio and dropped a tube of blue paint from her beak. I glanced up from the landscape I was painting and studied her quizzically.

"Blue? For the sky? I wanted it to be sunset in this picture," I told her. Philophrosyne shook her head firmly and nudged the paint in my direction.

"I rather think a sunset would fit this better--" I began, when Philly, shaking her head and looking at the picture, stepped on the tube and squirted it all over my Artist Smock.

"Oh, Philly!" I groaned, wiping the paint off (mostly). "Well, when you put it that way, I guess it would look better," I admitted sheepishly, dabbing the paint onto my palette. "Well done."

I passed a Tureen of Olives (olives are her favourite food) to her, and she pecked at them delicately, relishing her reward.

I got Philophrosyne, (whose name means welcome, friendliness, and kindness, and is pronounced Fill-oh-FROH-zeh-nee) relatively recently. She has been an irreplaceable help in my art production. All the things she does for me! Frames the paintings, fetches instruments and snacks when I'm in the studio past dinnertime, and buys supplies at the School Supply Shop before I even realise I've run out. Philophrosyne does it all without me even having to tell her to. I guess it's instinct, or else she's just very smart.

Philly can also write, by supporting the pen in her paw and beak and making large, shaky letters on a spare pad of paper. Her penmanship is often illegible, with bad spelling and grammar, but I can always tell what she means. She gives me good criticism and has an eye for colour, as you can see from the blue paint incident. Because I don't have a lot of friends or acclaimed artists to look at my pictures, she takes the place of an art critic.

I don't spend all my time painting, of course. I always reward Philophrosyne by spending my Saturday playing games with her. She loves to play catch and Kacheek Seek, and runs races against my sisters' Petpets. Sometimes we visit the Games Room and I let her play one of the games there. With my help, of course.

When I'm too frustrated or upset to paint, Philly curls up on my bed with me and lets me pet her and tell my problems. She isn't very good at giving advice, but she listens, and I always feel better afterward. Then I fly to the studio with Philly on my back.

Philophrosyne is not my first Petpet. I spent a week with a cardboard Ditsy when I was new, until she got wet and soggy. Then I had a Magaral, who was cute, but useless and kept getting in the way when I was drawing something. So, as far as Petpets go, Philly is the best one yet.

"This Petpet is quite intelligent, and often assists its owner with a variety of tasks, such as Neomailing letters and fetching a plate of Altadorian cheese. What more could your Neopet want?" That is what TNT says about Hermiteeses. I think there's more. They aren't just servants and assistants, they are friends. Like my own Philophrosyne.
