Petpet Name: Mock
Owner: fiaire
Pet Name: Meludy
Breed: Rock

About Mock:
It had been a freezing winter and an unseasonably cold spring, and even after summer had arrived, Neopets, Petpets, and Petpetpets alike had all tried to stay inside, away from the harsh weather. In the middle of the month of Swimming, however, the sun finally decided to shine that little bit stronger and everyone scrambled to get outside and make the most of it, not knowing how long the kind weather might last.

One such Neopian was a Mootix named Milly; she loved nothing more than to relax out in the sun, although she quickly discovered that it wouldn't be as simple as it sounded. During the cold months she had hidden herself away in the cover of a large oak tree that was surrounded by long, thick grass. She decided to venture out of what had been her temporary home. Once Milly did she discovered that, although the sun was shining brightly, it was blocked by the shade of the grass.

Usually she would find herself a Petpet to hop onto which would then make the journey into the sun for her, as the long grass continued for far longer than her tiny legs would be able to take her in a day. There were no travelling Petpets in sight, however; presumably, they had all found their way in to the sunlight already. This annoyed Milly, but she was known for being a creative thinker and wasn't about to give up that easily.

As she scanned her surroundings, the Mootix found exactly what she had been looking for: an area where the grass had been pressed down enough so that the sun was reaching the ground. Milly quickly made her way over there, but then found that she had to work out a way to deal with her latest problem. The reason the grass was pressed down was because someone was already there.

Too big to be a Petpetpet and to small to be a Neopet, Milly had to assume that it was a Petpet. It was a peculiar-looking thing, with no fur at all, and it was rather round and hard-looking. She approached it carefully and gave it a little nudge to get its attention, and then waited for a response. Nothing. She tried again. Once again, there was no reaction.

She walked around and stood in front of its face, and then started jumping up and down directly in front of it. It didn't even blink. This was very peculiar; usually Petpets would either be intrigued by a tiny creature or recognise the Mootix for what she was and get away before they started getting itchy. This one, though, gave no reaction whatsoever.

Milly decided that maybe it was hibernating. If that was the case then, really, it wouldn't mind not being in the sun for a little while. Therefore, she moved to the side and gave it a big push with all of her strength. It didn't even move a tiny bit. She tried again with a mighty shove and had the same result. This really wasn't going as planned, and if she took much longer the sun would probably start to go down, and who knew when it'd be back again after that.

There was only one thing for it then, really. She took another look at the mysterious Petpet before taking several steps backward... and then several more. Then, possibly quicker than she'd ever managed before, she ran straight forward and jumped at the last minute, launching herself on to it. It didn't have any fur to cling onto, but she managed to pull herself up on top, and as long as she didn't move she wouldn't slide off.

Milly closed her eyes and relaxed with the feeling of the warm sun on her back, appreciating how nice it was to be on top of a Petpet that wasn't constantly moving or trying to scratch her off.

She had a feeling that this would be the start of a beautiful friendship.
