Pet Name: AmazingMiracle
Owner: fairygold
Breed: Kau

About AmazingMiracle:
AmazingMiracle, my rainbow Kau, sighed. Drifting along on a boat in the middle of nowhere was pretty boring.

"Mom!" she cried suddenly, abandoning the piece of string she had been wrapping around her hoof. "I see it!"

I looked over excitedly. We had been drifting on the waves for two hours, looking for the Secret Lab Ray island. There was no questioning that immense structure of cold, shiny steel.

I picked up the broken oars that hung loosely on the sides of the boat and paddled towards the island. There was a small crowd of people gathered on the shore, and one or two of them were holding lab ray fortune cookies.

The boat bumped gently onto the sandy shore. Some people looked over at us newcomers, but most just stood quietly, gazing up at the steel building with their pets.

Soon the heavy door swung open, and the people stepped inside one by one. As the line of people shrank, some people and their pets started emerging from the building. Most of the pets looked no different, but a couple had Korbats when they stepped inside and Jubjubs when they came out, or Lupes when they came in and Rukis when they came out. A girl who had a glowing Lupe when she entered came out cradling a maraquan Lupe, saying, "Well, you can swim now, hun."

Finally, it was our turn. By then there were only four people left. One was calming her hyper Kiko down. Another was examining her fortune cookie with interest. Another was jumping up and down excitedly, much to the annoyance of his Kougra. The last person was securing his boat to the weathered old dock. Large raindrops began to fall from the thick wool-like clouds above, clinking loudly as they struck the steel building and causing the ocean surface to ripple wildly.

I walked inside, dragging poor Miracle with me. The Scorchio welcomed us with a creepy grin and led us to his ray room.

The gigantic ray was still steaming. The Scorchio silently skittered to his control buttons. I ushered Miracle to her place under the ray enthusiastically, though she was shaking like the engine of a motorboat.

"Hee hee hee!" the Scorchio laughed manically. "The ray is fired at AmazingMiracle..."

I crossed my fingers and whispered, "Please be something good, PLEASE be something good..."

The flash of light created by the ray momentarily blinded me, and the air seemed to quake with the accompanying BOOM. The usual scream came from Miracle, but the Scorchio's crazy laughter quickly drowned it out. Suddenly, the light was gone, Miracle was crumpled on the floor, and steam billowed out of the ray.

"Miracle!" I gasped, staring at her new form. She had long antennae coming from next to her horns, a beautiful golden bell around her neck, and gorgeous wings coming from her back.

"... and she changes color to Faerie!" the Scorchio said disappointedly. I had a feeling that he wanted all pets to be changed into Skeiths.

"MOMMY!" Miracle yelled, flying jet-fast into my arms. "I'M A FAERIE!"

"I know!" I smiled, twirling her around and around. Her wings fluttered softly from the breeze that escaped the hallway.

She remains faerie to this day, and I'm still in love with her translucent wings, her lavender fur, her silky antennae. She is my pride and joy, and I will never let her go.
