Pet Name: Rachel36985
Owner: kahlen369
Breed: Krawk

About Rachel36985:
The lush green meadows and plentiful forests of Brightvale were perhaps a slightly risky choice of home for a Magma Krawk whose flaming exterior could occasionally, well, literally flare up along with her swift temper.

But Rachel was stubborn. The Krawk had lived in plenty of places, from crowded and bustling Neopia Central, wild to slightly shady Krawk Island to the dark and mysterious Moltara. None of those places had ever felt quite right, no matter how much they might've fit her outwardly.

Because, although Rachel looked to b a fierce neopet, inside, she was a true lady, and a true lady could find no better place of residence than the land ruled by wise King Hagan. Of course, this was Rachel’s opinion, and the other residents didn’t quite agree.

No matter how hard Rachel tried to be elegant and friendly, she always seemed to end up coming off as intimidating and scary instead...

---

“Hello, my dear neighbors! Lovely weather today, no?” Rachel greeted, her sharp teeth glinting brightly in the morning sun, as he lips stretched wide into an unsettling smile.

The pair of Aishas she’d greeted shuddered and backed away, not quite screaming as they ran off in the opposite direction (but it was a very near thing).

She tried again with several other neopets, but the result was all the same. One poor Jubjub actually fainted at the sight of her! It was all quite disheartening...

---

“Achoo!” Rachel sneezed, a burst of fire wheezing past her lips and onto the dress of the Acara in front of her, who began to panic and run wildly in circles, trying to put the flames out. Though Rachel tried to help, the Acara was less than receptive to it. Eventually, they managed to put it out by rolling on the ground and ruining the dress even more.

Cringing at the sight, the Magma Krawk quickly attempted to apologize, “Oh, Fyora! I’m so sorry about that! It was a terrible accident...”

The Acara only glared at her, huffing angrily before they turned around and walked away, the attempt at looking dignified failing miserably thanks to her bedraggled and singed appearance. Shoulders slumping in disappointment, Rachel helplessly called out, “Dinner is cancelled, then?”

That was the last neighborhood gathering she was invited to....

---

“MY BOOKS!!!” The wail of despair echoed through all of Brightvale that day.

Rachel wasn’t allowed to set foot in any of the book or scroll shops after that.

---

And many more similar incidents occurred, all resulting in Rachel becoming something of the local neighborhood menace, spoken about in harsh whispers and given fearful or angry looks whenever she passed.

On the flip side, some neopets thought it was outright hilarious, the kind of chaos she unintentionally left in her wake, and she gained some admiring looks and slaps on the back instead that made think of her days spent in Krawk Island.

It wasn’t exactly the kind of friendship she was hoping to make, as a classy lady, but Rachel could admit to herself that at least she wasn’t lonely.

“Whose house do you think you’ll burn down this time?” Alex asked with an impish grin, the Red Poogle’s eyes sparkling with mischief.

“I told you that was an accident!” Rachel objected, shaking her head as she sighed. “Stop being so happy about it. I actually want to be friends with my neighbors, you know.”

“Hey, if they can’t look past a few accidents, they aren’t going to be good friends anyway!” Alex pointed out, before shrugging, “Besides, you have me!”

---

Indeed, Rachel’s life wasn’t quite turning out how she wanted it to, but she had to admit, it was fun all the same. And there were plenty more chances to win the others over with hr elegance and charm, she was sure.

“Achoo!”

After she got over her cold, maybe.
