A young girl sat at the doctors desk, a large poogle on her knee.
"Isn't there another way?" she said, stroking the poogle.
"I'm afraid not," the doctor said. "The tail wil have to be removed. It's just too big!" he shook his head. The poogle burped and kept sleeping.
The Doctor gave the poogle a sympathetic look.
"May I ask how this happened?" he said kindly.
The girl nodded.
"Yliko?" she said, prodding her. The poogle sat up with a start, her enormous tail sticking in the air.
"Huh?" she yawned. "Lucia? Where are we?" she asked.
"We're at the doctor. He wants to know how your tail got so big," she said.
"Oh," Yliko said.
"Well," she said, settling down. This was a story she'd told many times.
"I was a very small Poogle. On my second day in Neopia, Lucia sent me out to get some food from the bakery. On my way back, with a few neopoints left over, I went into a dark shop in an alleyway. It had a sign outside saying 'Magic Shop! Cheap! Works Everytime!'
I was tempted by this, and walked in nervously. Nothing in their really appealed to me, and I was about to leave when the shopkeeper, a wrinkled old techo, shuffled towards me.
I froze to the spot in fear as she said, 'you're a runty wee thing aren't you,' and cackled evilly.
I nodded shyly, and she grabbed my wrist with bony fingers and pulled me into the storeroom. She started rummaging through boxes, and finally found a bottle.
"Bathe in this, and you will grow big!" she told me in a croaky voice. I put this in my backpack along with the bread, and she held out her gnarled hand.
"Neopoints! Nothing in this life is free!" she shrieked.
I was almost shaking with fear. "H-H-How m-much?" I asked, trembling. "I've only got 937!" I said foolishly.
"Well, what a coincidence! 937 it is!" she snatched the coins out of my hand and shuffled back behind the counter. I sprinted out of that shop, and home. On the way I felt wetness creeping down my tail. I realised that the bottle must've leaked, or broken! 'Oh well, when I get home I can fix it," I said sadly, angry that this chance to grow was over. I walked the rest of the way, my head hanging dejectedly. When I got home, my eldest sister Bopilina looked at me in horror. "Yliko!" she cried, rushing over. "What has happened to your tail!" she looked stricken. "Nothing!" I said, craning my neck to look at it. What I saw made me faint. My tail had almost tripled in size!" she said. "And now I am here," she sat back down and went back to sleep.
"So, Doctor, can you help her?" Lucia asked anxiously.
"Sure!" The doctor said
