 Pet Name: _Mr_Funky_man_ Owner: snapleberry Breed: Usul About _Mr_Funky_man_: "Mom, why do you always have to repaint ME?" I asked. "Most neopets find it a blessing, why don't you?" she replied. Yeah, a blessing, sure. Getting repainted is like switching schools. People always say, "Who's that new kid?" even if they have been your best friend for life. I didn't find that as a blessing. "Look, if you let me change you this once, I'll never paint you again." she begged. "Oh, I get it now," I said with a sneer, "You just want to change the way I look because your not satisfied with me." "That's not true," she insisted, "I paint you to find the perfect color for you." "Then why did you turn me into an usul?" I said, still suspiscious. "That part's a surprise." she said confidently. Ordinarily, I like surprises. But I wasn't sure I'd like this one. And so, I'll I could do is wait. And wait. And wait some more. My mom isn't all that great at saving up np. At NeoSchool, some of my friends started reconizing me. When they heard what my mom was planning, instead of saying, "That stinks" or, "No fair" they said "Your mom's painting you AGAIN? LUCKY!" and "My mom has never painted me once." I began to feel better about this new look I was about to have. A lot better. On the day of the trip to rainbow pool, my mom was surprised at how happy I looked. "Wow, your in a good mood today." she said. "Yup" I answered. "So, what color are you painting me?" "I'll tell you when we get there." she replied. A few minutes later, we arrived at the rainbow pool. "This is it." I thought. My mom started to pull out the paintbrush from her bag. I caught a glimpse of pink. My heart sank. She had, in her hands, an usuki paint brush. "MOM!" I complained to her. She wouldn't listen. "You’re not going to look girly or anything, I promise. Just go paint yourself" she insisted. I rolled my eyes, snatched the paint brush from her hands, and started to get in the pool. As I painted myself, I grew longer hair, my eyesight was better, and I seemed to grow taller. As I came out, I asked my Mom, "How do I look?" "Here, I brought a mirror" she said as I questioned her. I took one look at myself and I gaped, I...looked...AWESOME! "I look like a musketeer!" I said. I can't wait to show THIS new look off at school. When I got to school once again, no one recognized me, but I didn’t care this time. I found my friends and showed them my new color once they knew it was me. They loved it. “That is so COOL,” they kept saying over and over. “Now you don’t have to worry about a Halloween costume!” they joked. When I came home I ran up to my Mom and just hugged her. But that summed up my feelings. And then she just said “I won’t ever paint you again.” “I wouldn’t care anyway” I told her. “Just next time, tell me what you’ll paint me beforehand.” We both laughed at that.
