Pet Name: Noctuina
Owner: x_seabee_x
Breed: Korbat

About Noctuina:

"BOW DOWN, MORTAL!!! DO NOT GAZE UPON MY FACE, FOR YOU ARE NOT WORTHY!!!"

*groan* Noctuina, you can't talk to the users like that!

"And why not? This IS my spotlight."

Yeah but without these nice users you wouldn't have an audience.

*scoffs*

Anyway, hello Neopians! My name is Destiny and I am here to tell you about my royal korbat, Noctuina--Ina for short. She is kinda abrupt and harsh at times, but don't let her fool you! She is very sweet and kind when she thinks no one is looking!

*pushes* "No I am not! What are you trying to do, woman? Ruin my reputation? Psh... now you are going to have Slothy thinking less of me."

Oh yeah, that--Ina here has delusions that she is Dr. Sloth's #2. Which is ridiculous, 'cause I have never personally met the man and I think I would know if my pet were part of a global evil organization.

"Ha! Shows what YOU know! All of your pets are minions as well!"

Yeah... sure. Sometimes I wonder, though... long hours locked in her lab and bedroom of doom (that is what she insists that I call it) and there are those nights when I swear she is not even up there. You think she'd introduce me to the Dr... I love celebrities!

I guess I should tell you a bit more about how she came about. Long ago I met a traveler in the desert. His name was Saeturus and he carried with him a small child. "This is my only daughter. Her mother and brother were lost to the desert bandits that roam this land. Please take her to Altador. There she will live among her people," he said pleadingly. I agreed and as soon as I held the baby, the man disappeared. Ina was so precious... back then she was a blue gelert. It was then, when I looked into her eyes, that I realized that I had neglected to learn her name. Since she was from Altador, I named her Noctuina, which means whoot in an ancient language--a sacred bird of altador. I also decided to change her looks in order to keep her safe--who knew if the bandits would look for her. She became the color of the shadows... hidden safe with me.

Over the next few months I slowly made my way towards Altador. Travel conditions were harsh and I didn't have many neopoints to take the faster transportation. We grew close and she grew to be a lovely young gelert. Soon we arrived in Altador and when the guards saw the child, they bowed down and usered us quickly through the gates and to the palace. Once inside, Jerdana gazed upon the child, awe-struck. "This is the child! She is the one I saw in my vision! She is the immortal!" she cried. The entire court fell into a hush as Ina stepped forward. Jerdana touched her on the forehead. Suddenly a blinding light filled the room as Ina began to rise from the floor. The shadows were stripped and she assumed her true form... her royal form. She smiled at Jerdana, then turned and smiled at me. She was home. "You will indeed do great things, Princess Noctuina," Jerdana whispered to her. "But I think your home should be with Destiny. She has brought you so far!" Ina nodded and we made our home in Altador, next to the palace.

So that is how Noctuina became my royal korbat. I hope you like her story! And don't worry--she isn't serious about the Sloth thing... is she? *evil grin*
