 Pet Name: Yerenwen Owner: alagfalaswen Breed: Bruce About Yerenwen: You gaze at the door with a little apprehension. The guy who helped you out of the caves told you to drop by before heading back out into the wide Neopian world out there. And really, the place isn't frightening in the least - a small, cozy place fringed by well-kept bushes and the occasional pink flamingo decoration. Still, four nights of being lost in the echoes of the Magma Caves does things to a person. The door clicks open before you have a chance to change your mind, and a brown head peeks out and blinks owlishly at you. 'Ah, there you are! Kai said to expect you - I was beginning to wonder if you had gotten lost.' As he pushes the door wider, you can't help but be overwhelmed by the noise that spills out. The voices squabbling and chatting and generally yelling at each other seem almost like a blanket of comfort after the days of deafening silence. Now and then, a curious gaze pokes out of a doorway and follows them with interest, but most of them leave him alone, more distracted by their own activities. Not wanting to intrude by looking into the room, you study your host instead. Decked out in a still-floury apron with a scarf wound around his neck, he looks friendly enough, eyes warm behind the small spectacles perched on his beak. The slight limp in his step does not mar the confidence with which he takes it and he briskly leads you over to what is presumably the kitchen. 'Oh, where are my manners. I'm Yerenwen - I think Kai should have told you about me? I kind of run this... er, place. It's really just my home, though, along with the rest of my family.' 'You have a really big family,' you venture tentatively as a sock comes flying out of nowhere. Yerenwen deftly catches it and chucks it back as he chuckles. 'Yeah well, I wouldn't have it any smaller, though. It's just nice for me, them,' he says, gesturing at rooms, 'and the occasional lost traveler Kai passes on to me to send back into Neopia.' 'Now, you'll need a new backpack, of course. And some supplies - oh! Definitely a new change of clothes...' It isn't long until you're packed and ready, both mentally and physically, to continue on your travels. As you thank Yerenwen, he pushes a slightly charred cookie into your hand. 'Just something for the road. All the best and take care now!' On your way out, a Gelert waylays you as Yerenwen gets the door. 'Hey, if I were you, I'd... well, pass on eating that cookie. Just a friendly reminder and all.' As you wave goodbye to Yerenwen and set out, you take a sniff at the cookie. Hmmm.... maybe that Gelert was right... it certainly doesn't smell very cookie-like. Oh well, another souvenir and tale to collect on the road.
