 Pet Name: Taws Owner: filter Breed: Kougra About Taws: Taws guarded his Neohome with a tenacity. Some always believed he was just overprotective of his family. While the three others slept away in a different quarter of the house, Taws kept to himself in the study. A humble bedroom housed Taws's sleeping area, while the large library kept him entertained all day long. He only liked to leave the Neohome at night, under the cover of darkness. For you see, Taws is a Vampire Kougra. He wasn't always this way. As a young cub, he was an adventurous lad. Traveling out into Neopia, always wanting to learn everything he could about everyone he encountered. He studied in the great mountains of Shenkuu, watched the gladiators in the arena in Altador. He cataloged the underwater flora and fauna of Maraqua and traversed the wide plains of Brightvale. It was one unfortunate day in the Haunted Woods that changed his life completely. The soft cackle followed him as he tread a new path through a thick forest of trees. Taws's heart was strong, though; no fear permeated his thick fur. It wasn't until his eyes fell upon those red eyes that Taws knew he was in trouble. Taws had heard about Hubrid Nox before, but his ego was too big to take the warning that Nox was out in full force, ready to amass an army. One little bite from the crafty Chia turned Taws's whole world upside down. Taws fled back to his Neohome, never to adventure again. Since then, he's kept careful watch over his family, making sure none of them ever fell into the same fate he had. Now, you may think that his family might be worried. A blood-hungry Vampire Kougra living under the same roof as them? None of them ever feared Taws, though, for as strange as a Vampire Kougra was, the way his hunger was sated is much stranger still. One fateful night, Taws accidentally left the library door unlocked after he entered his chambers. His very curious Gnorbu brother Lope noticed, and after peeking in on the Kougra, watched the entire situation unfold. Taws pulled on the spine of a copy of Guide to the Neocola Machine. The book was implanted on the far wall of the library, and when replaced back in its spot, a soft click was heard. Lope's eyes went wide as the wall gave way to what looked like a large, hidden refrigerator. The Gnorbu snuck in closer to investigate. The Vampire Kougra pulled the door open, and with a soft flicker of the refrigerator's light, unveiled his biggest secret yet. Shelves and shelves of ice cold Neocola lined the large fridge, the bright metal cans all standing at attention, ready to be chosen. Taws ran his paw over the different flavors as he was choosing his nightly meal. Apple, Grapefruit, even Diet for when he was watching his beastly figure. After gingerly choosing a can of Cherry Neocola, he shut the refrigerator and let the wall slide back into place. Sinking his teeth into the metal lid of the can, Taws purred in contentment. It was then that the Kougra looked up, and his gaze met the wide eyes of the peeping Gnorbu. From that day on, the Kougra was out of the bag. Taws's family has kept his secret all this time, and they still love their brother just the same. Whenever anyone asks what it's like living with a vampire, all his family members reply the same thing. "It's as easy as popping open a Neocola."
