Quote of the Week

Rysony’s mouth fell open as he gawked at the sight before him. Never in his life had he seen so many books! The castle walls were not lined with portraits or suits of armour; Instead, he was greeted by shelves and shelves of dusty books and tomes of all sizes. It looked like he had stepped inside the largest library in Neopia, not a royal castle! Rysony closed his mouth and began to follow the emerald green carpet that stretched in front of him, looking left and right and admiring the huge collection of stories and knowledge that surrounded him.

Games to Challenge Neopia’s Wordsmiths

Do you fancy yourself a wordsmith? Do anagrams make you as jolly as a JubJub? Do you yearn to improve your vocabulary (or simply to show off your spelling skills)? If your answer to each of these was an enthusiastic “yes!” then I am happy to report that Neopets has a library of word games that can possibly match your library of books! If word scrambles are up your alley, then perhaps you fancy a game of Word Poker.

Choosing a Petpet to match your lifestyle

Petpet ownership can offer many benefits such as improved health and social skills, as well as reducing stress and anxiety. If you're thinking about acquiring a Petpet to join your neofamily there is more to consider than just their appearance. Different species will have different needs and personalities. To have a better chance at an ideal match here are some factors to take note of and some ways to narrow down that puddle of Petpets...

Neopian Nibbles: Krawk Island's Golden Dubloon!

Ahoy Neopian Times Readers! Food critics and first mates Riss (riss_chan) and Sammy (ciarza) have returned this week to review Krawk Island’s most famous restaurant, The Golden Dubloon! This cosy eatery just east of Warf Wharf is a popular destination, attracting Neopians from far and wide to dine on the swashbuckling inspired cuisine. The Golden Dubloon is highly renowned and can draw in crowds into the thousands of pets, so it is nearly impossible to simply waltz inside and be seated immediately.

"Kismet's "Easy" Job" by lugal222
“I t will be an easy job,” she said, Kismet thought with a groan as he stared at the fourteen swords pointing at his face. Three weeks ago, Kismet had been approached by an old Lenny. She hid her face, but Kismet could tell she was important; they way the Lenny spoke left no room for argument, so when she told him he was going to steal something for her, Kismet knew he would do exactly what was asked of him. To be fair, she spent the first half of their meeting buttering him up, talking about how he was the best Stealthy Krawk around and telling him about how she had heard of his exploits and was impressed. However, Kismet didn’t think his background of sneaking into places he wasn’t supposed to be and taking photos really qualified him to steal an item for her, but somehow she swayed him and so he found himself here: balancing precariously at the edge of a cliff while fourteen swords, and their owners, were ready to attack him.

"Neopia's Forgotten Settlement - Delving Into Neovia" by whale_56
For years the small town of Neovia in the Haunted Woods has flown under the radars of most Neopians. Hidden away from view by the shadows of the wispy trees that surround it, the quaint community is still said to be home to a dedicated cohort of residents, working to keep their distinct way of life a reality, rather than a relic of the past. At first glance Neovia doesn't pique the interests of many, being what seems to be a grey town, with cold aesthetics and even colder weather patterns. Temperatures in this part of the Haunted Woods barely reach 10 degrees at the best of times, never mind in the Month of Sleeping when I ventured into Neovia on behalf of the Neopian Times to investigate the lives and livelihoods of present-day Neovians. My journey began with a trip to the Haunted Woods and its harrowing dark sights. I arrived at dusk, greeted by a cacophony of cackles and moans...

"A nerd finds herself in the Altadorian Archives" by mauveandpurple
Finneus, the Archivist, made his way through the archives, looking for Laura Kasatkina. A scholar-in-training from Brightvale, she began working at the archives a short while ago, endearingly excited about the dauntingly vast library. Finneus was more than glad to nurture a young mind's love for knowledge and literature, but he couldn't help not being anxious when someone ventured into the archives by themselves. He remembered with dread the amount of Neopians who had to have search-and-rescue teams sent after them until the reveal of Altador's true history, after which the ordeal was limited to the poor archive workers. It took a patient soul to work in the Altadorian Archives, someone who did not suffer from both agoraphobia and claustrophobia. He finally found Laura sitting on the marble floor of one of the many rooms in the library, a stack of books on her side, a stack of papers one her other side, and a paper between her white paws.
