So, you’ve decided to come back to Neopets… Maybe you saw your friends posting about it again on social media, or you read an article informing millennials that Neopets was BACK. Whatever tempted you back to Neopia, here you are, with an old account, nostalgic pets, and a whole lot of questions. Everything is familiar, but just different enough that it can be hard to get your bearings. Draiks are… attainable now? There are HOW many new colors? And, Kikocat has been Alice all along? There can be a lot to wrap your head around. While a lot of the methods you previously knew to earn NP are still top tier options, such as restocking and playing games, there are a few that may be unfamiliar to you. This post will teach you the top five ways to start earning NP so that you can achieve those childhood dreams. So, without further ado, here are the top five best ways for returning players to earn Neopoints: 1. Quest Log The Quest Log is the newest addition to the world of Neopets and has certainly come in with a bang. With prizes like the Sleep Ray and Snowbunny Stamp, everyone has an opinion. Wherever you fall on the idea of quest log (this writer finds it to be brilliant) the reality is that even without a great prize, it’s a great way to make Neopoints. Each day you’ll be tasked with five quests. These include feeding, grooming, or customising your Neopets. You may be asked to buy a specific number of items from a Neopian shop, or to spin a wheel.

Everything You Need to Know: Advent Calendar
After a long (and I mean longggg) year full of new ownership, festivals, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, daily visits to the Island Mystic (and still no avatar – no, I’m not bitter, why do you ask?), it is finally time to end the Neopian year curled up with a good book in front of a Warm and Cosy Fireplace or on vacation at Roo Island and – oh wait! We can’t go on holiday just yet, there is still more to be done! The Month of Celebrating is upon us which means it is time for the Advent Calendar! *cue the French Horn of Winter* Neopians of all ages look forward to this festive and fun daily activity, full of items sure to delight each and every Neopian. If you are a new to Neopets, a returning player, or a regular user, this guide will assist you in making the most of this merry daily activity. Where Is It: Pack up your pets each morning for a trip to Happy Valley on Terror Mountain or check into the Mountain Lodge Neolodge location for a long holiday and a shorter traverse. Nestled between the Gift Tags and tunnel to the Ice Caves is a grand manor known as the Advent Calendar. Enter the building and you will immediately be greeted with an adorable animation and an Abominable Snowman with a stockpile of that day’s prizes.  | A Modern Guide on Guilds!
Neopets is more than just a site with cute Pets, fun games, and collecting almost anything that one’s heart desires. Neopets allows space for building community. While the Neoboards are a great place for people to connect and interact with each other, guilds are a special place where you can find even more like-minded people. When I made my account back in 2001, my guild was one of the main reasons I logged in every, single day. I made friends in my guild that I’m still in touch with to this day. Coming back from a very long hiatus, I didn’t feel quite as connected until I had joined a guild again – and I ended up co-founding an updated version of my original guild with members from that guild (which became inactive some time ago). This brings me to the next point. Nowadays, guilds are very different from the early years of Neopets. There was more variety and randomness to many of the guilds before, which is what makes looking at some of the old guilds rather fun now. However, these days, there are fewer guilds but many of them are organized based on a particular focus. |

"Teamwork Makes the Treasure Work" by racoon188
"Ouch!" Marty stopped swimming as he scraped his fin on yet another loose nail. "Trying to get this done fast is only slowing me down AND is going to give me Fuzzy Fungus." Absently, the Maraquan Yurble rubbed his sore fin, looking around the attic. When his grandfather suddenly moved to Mystery Island and left Marty with the job of cleaning out and selling his house, it seemed like a great deal. He was getting paid a little, and he got to keep the money from whatever he could sell. Working a regular job while he was in school had proved pretty impossible, so this kind of self-paced odd job was just perfect. Or so he thought. While the first floor was straightened up in no time (it helped that Gramps had taken a lot of that stuff with him), since starting on the attic two weeks ago, it felt like all his progress had ground to a halt. He flopped down with a sigh. Listlessly he reached for a nearby box. Looking inside, he let out a slightly hysterical bubble of laughter. “This is exactly why I'm not getting anywhere! I look in one box and there's ANOTHER box!” Marty rolled his eyes. He slowly pulled the box out of the other box, realizing as he did that it was more of a chest than a box. The metal bindings looked almost like Maractite, shimmering slightly in the diffused glow of the attic lamp. "Where did this come from? I can't imagine Gramps knew about this and didn't tell me." Marty fiddled with the clasp, trying to open the chest, but it wouldn't budge. Digging back into the original box, he unearthed a key which he almost expected not to fit. He envisioned having to go back through the whole attic to find it, but luckily in this case the obvious key fit the obvious lock. The lid creaked open, releasing a stream of bubbles. Marty let the breath he didn't know he was holding go in one big woosh when he saw what was under the bubbles. One piece of vellum. Sigh.

"At The Edge" by fallingdaybreak
"No, no, no! Sylvana, don’t go!!" A cry of utter despair rang in Brisiella’s ears as she stood to the side, overlooking what could only be described as the end of a battle in the world of Neopia. As an invisible spectator to the scene (no normal Neopian could see the patron of life, after all), the ground was a charred crater below an Usukiboy Usul, a Faerie Peophin, and a Darigan Kyrii, all three of them heavily wounded and surrounded by crumbling debris. But of the trio, the Kyrii was the most heavily injured, and judging from the crimson wound in her chest and her unmoving form, Brisiella knew this meant only one thing - one of her creations’ life had come to an end. This was the part of her job that she always found the hardest. Even if Brisiella knew this was a natural part of life, it didn’t make the sting of watching a life come to an end any less painful - in this case, the Usul’s despair at this Kyrii’s death was rather heartbreaking. Still, death was a part of every life, and it was an irreversible part of nature. As the patron of life, it was her job to see her creations off to join Toumei, whom Brisiella knew would take good care of them in the afterlife. Slowly, from the Kyrii’s unmoving form, a glow of blue emerged. Initially a formless orb of pale blue light, it slowly floated in the air until it came to a stop in front of Brisiella. Another glow flashed from the orb as it took the shape of the Kyrii. Her form was entirely transparent, save for her crimson eyes as she and Brisiella found themselves in the astral realm, the latter’s home. As for what was happening in Neopia, the scene had become a blurred, but still-moving image as it drifted off to the left of Brisiella and the Kyrii. "Greetings," Brisiella spoke. "You are Sylvana, correct?" The Kyrii blinked before looking up, now spotting Brisiella. "Who are you?" "I am Brisiella, the patron of life."

Toby the Gelert had always been a fan of the occult, and reading the Gallery of Evil had definitely become somewhat of a passion of his. Ever since that fateful night when he swore he caught a glimpse of the Shadow Usul he’s been hooked on finding the truth. He tried every day to convince his friends of the Shadow Usul’s existence, but sadly they would never give him the time of day. Then one day, during an interview with an old Eyrie, he just… vanished. We never could figure out where he went, but no one wanted to believe it had anything to do with the Shadow Usul. Until now at least… My name is Iora and I’m just your average Usul. I love my Usuki dolls, love my family, and I DON’T get caught up in scary things. In fact I do my very best to avoid them! I do not break any mirrors, I do not walk under any ladders, I do not let black Kadoaties pass my path, and I do NOT go into the forests around Neopia Central at night alone to look for any Shadow Usuls! But the other day my mom sent me into the woods to look for some stupid shop because she just HAD TO HAVE a mega rare plushie only stocked there. I thought it would be so easy, but halfway into my journey… I got lost… So now here I was, wandering this stupid forest, looking at all these dumb trees that look exactly the same when BAM! I trip over something hard and crash on my poor beautiful face! When I managed to pull myself back up from this I found a tattered journal and pencil, but who just leaves trash on the ground? I hate litterers! I picked it up and when I did a page fell out of it. Slowly I leaned over to pick up the page, but as I did I couldn’t help but gasp, “Toby…” the name was written neatly on the top of the piece of paper that fell out and I knew it couldn’t be a coincidence. My paws were shaking as I lifted the paper up to my face to keep reading, “This is that interview he said... |
