You have been chosen to do some extra curriculum projects to enhance your already stellar grade of C average. Your project is to study this case study and to draw your own conclusions about the mental stability of Patient #00124NKP-343. *** Medical Case Study *** *** Patient #00124NKP-343 *** Patient #00124NKP-343 or "Zesty" was born 4 years ago in the quite town of central Neopia. To begin with Zesty was a rather vivacious blue Zafara and he made friends quite easily. His favourite food was raw vegetables and his favourite activity was to hunt for treasure in the Snowager's cave. Shortly after his first birthday Zesty's owner, chasing_my_shadow was fortunate enough to buy a disco paintbrush, at the then price of 90,000np. Once Zesty was painted disco, things started to shift. Zesty no longer enjoyed frolicking in the sun, eating health food or hunting for treasure; Instead he would sleep all day and try and find some nightlife party, eat pizza and he didn't have any interest in any spots what so ever.... His owner chalked this up to being a teenager. Early in the third year, chasing_my_shadow gained access to the controversial lab ray. Or as us professionals call it the "Shock Therapy" machine. Chasing_my_shadow started to carelessly fire the lab ray at Zesty's brothers and sisters- everyone but Zesty. It is unclear why his owner chose not to disfigure and torture Zesty with this ray and personally speaking Zesty should have been thankful but instead it created paranoia deep within Zesty. Zesty started to feel common and undistinctive. To replace this need to feel different Zesty recklessly started to delve into the extreme sports of Karaoke. Shameful I know! This new passion took off and soon he was randomly singing songs in front of strangers all over Neopia central. But it just wasn't good enough. For some strange reason every time it was Zesty's turn to sing, pets left the room. Needless to say this did not help Zesty's paranoia at all. Zesty tried to narrow down what was causing this mass exodus every time he got up in stage. It wasn't his voice - even he had to admit his voice was a good singing voice. It wasn't his personal hygiene - His owner practically drags him to the grooming parlour everyday. It must be his look! Once Zesty's mind was made up that it was his look that was ruining his chances of fame he pleaded with his owner to zap him with the lab ray. Not one to refuse a new test subject chasing_my_shadow agreed to zap Zesty. It took a few months but eventually Zesty transformed into something very unique and special..... a carrot! Zesty's owner was over the moon – she had never owned a vegetable as a pet before. Zesty, on the other hand, is reported to be having a bit of a tough time adjusting to his new look – However he is now drawing in record numbers to his karaoke shows. It is my professional opinion that Zesty is experiencing the dreaded "middle child syndrome" - he wants what ever his other siblings have but at the same time he wants to be different. But this case study isn't about my opinion it's about yours. In 1000 words please draw your own conclusions.
