Hi, I'm Skander!
I'm only three days old, so excuse me if I don't know very much. The story of my birth is an interesting one. Wanna hear it?
My mom, Lystara, was traveling around Neopia in her vardo (that's a "gypsy wagon") with my brother, Kezmir, looking
for the perfect addition to her family. She climbed to the treacherous top of Terror Mountain, she swam to the murky depths of Maraqua,
she braved the monsters in the Haunted Woods, she struggled through the tangled jungles of the Mystery Island, and she even took a
shuttle to the Space Station--all in search of the one pet that would make her happiness complete. After searching all over Neopia,
mom was tired, hungry, frustrated--and needed a bath! She was about to give up her quest when she came upon the Faerie Queen holding
court in a hidden grove. After paying homage to Her Majesty, my mom asked the Queen if there could possibly be anywhere she had not
looked. The Queen took mom aside and spoke softly to her. "Because you have showed respect for the faeries and all the inhabitants of
Neopia, I will tell you a secret," the Queen said. "Listen closely. High above Neopia, even higher than Terror Mountain, you will find
what you seek." And she told her about the fantastic city in the clouds inhabited by the faeries.
Mom went to Faerieland straight away. There she beheld a wondrous sight. In a huge nest were row after row of eggs.
"They are almost ready to hatch," a faerie caretaker told her. "When they do, a new breed of pet will be born to Neopia.
You will be among the first allowed to choose one." Mom paced and paced. Finally, the hour arrived. First one egg hatched.
Then another. And another. Soon there were hundreds, thousands of new pets in the land. The Faeries called them Eyries, and
they looked like nothing seen in Neopia before. Mom fell in love immediately and chose a bright blue one--that was me!
Becoming part of the family wasn't easy, at first. Kezmir was jealous because I had claws and wings just like him. He is a
Faerie Kougra, and very bossy! When I fell into the Rainbow Pool and turned purple, he just laughed and laughed. After a while,
I started laughing too! We get along great now. I love my mom and brother very much. And I promised I would try to do good by
winning a trophy. So far I haven't had any luck. Mom says she loves me just the same, though. I'm glad. I don't know what I'd do
without her!
