USUKICON SPECIAL

Air and a Shimmer
By _Razcalz_

My hair is the song of a
Carmariller, the trill of summer
wind; wisps more starlike
you'll not find.

My gown is of cornflower
this morning bloomed,
gossamer-fine yet flawlessly
spun, by paws that
know and dance their talent
in courtly jig.

And my wings, they are
the envy of a Brightvale glazier,
for they wink like
glass and gleam like
glass, and yet are not of
molten sand but
ether gentle.

For I am an air faerie,
a doll, an Usuki --
a likeness of Psellia's brethren,
and I sigh the name
proudly;
the only question left
is when I, too, will
kindle a wind-breath and
find my flight.

Usukicon... Keep Shopping!
By Anjie

Usuki dolls are lovely things,
Collectable and rare.
But buying each and every one?
The shopping won't stop there.

For once your lovely doll is home,
The questions do begin.
She'll gather dust up on the shelf,
What will you put her in?

A dream castle would do the trick,
(Each room with carpet lush.)
You'll find one at Usukicon,
(They're rare, though, better rush!)

But once she's moved and settled in,
She won't be going far.
How to get a fashion fix,
Without her own dream car?

Usuki Dream Car, buy it now!
(Free box with every one!)
Feel the Neopoints get light?
Get set, we've just begun!

She'll need a dream boat for weekends,
A dream pool for hotter days.
Dream stove to cook up those meals,
(And they call this a craze!)

A pirate hat and tea set too,
Toy hoop with which to play.
A Slorg set and a summer dress,
For when friends come to play.

One place exists to find it all,
The whole world, plastic bound.
For only at Usukicon,
Can bliss be truly found!

So shop until you own it all!
Don't hold back, just be rash!
You'll come away with tons of stuff,
But not a lot of cash.

Usuki Plight
By Dianacat777

The lights turn on, the stage is set;
An Usuki ball is underway.
All around they prance and dance.
Watch the Prom Date and Prom Queen dolls sway.

Smashing, growling, sudden unrest;
Heads turn to see the uninvited guest.

Jaws drop, dancers flop, music instantly stops;
A Geisha Girl doll splits the night with a scream!
The Hula Girl hides behind the Beautiful Bride,
For a Werewolf Usuki has arrived on the scene!

Even Fyora Usuki can't save the day
When this Usuki ball goes quite astray.

Tables with Usuki Cakes
Fall tumbling to the carpet green.
And all around there is a gasp
As the Werewolf snatches the Prom Queen!

"All is lost," cries the Prom Date.
"Ugga grrg!" the Tyrannian grates.

A shout wells up from lands below,
And all Usukis freeze in perfect sync.
"Sally, dear, come downstairs now;
Dinner will be ready in just a wink!"

The Acara puts her toys away,
And little Usukis are safe today.

Abigail's Usukis
By _Chopin

It's common for frequent gamers to know
The name of Abigail Avinroo.
Though always up for a new challenger,
She's quite easy to outdo.

Being a young girl with such a daunting role,
Living out childhood must be hard,
But it's known that she collects Usuki dolls
Rather than plushies or trading cards.

I often find myself wondering exactly which ones
A gaming star like Abigail would hold.
Quite possibly a battle faerie or young bride,
That an obsessive Blumaroo sold.

Or would she go on the rarer end of the spectrum,
Maybe a Jhuidah or King Skarl doll?
Though if I were her I'd ignore the king,
Considering his grumpiness isn't fun at all.

It's silly, of course, to make such a claim --
That such a young one could have those funds.
If she were secretly a mini-millionaire,
All of Neopia would be stunned.

Or does her brother support her spoken love
For all things named Usuki?
He's the more formidable of the siblings,
I think everyone would agree.

One thing's for sure, you know where she'll be
When Usukicon starts on August 20.
For there lurks dolls old and new,
And those I'm sure she'd admire plenty.

And wouldn't it be smart for them to honour
A fan who is quite well-known
With an Abigail Usuki doll stocked on shelves,
That she could call her own?

An Ultimate Usuki Day
By Ruby_petal

When the weather is looking down
And the sun is quiet and shy,
Never cry, pout, or even frown,
There's more to do and try!

Call your neighbours to your home;
Tell them to bring their friends.
That way you will not be alone
Before the wet rain ends.

What better to do than play
With plushies, toys, and more?
Especially with clouds like today
And the rain continuing to pour.

Remember those Usukis too!
And all the fashionable wear.
There's a huge number of things to do,
Like brushing the magical hair!

Teenage, Prom Queen, Fun in the Sun,
So many to play and dress.
Green and purple hair to be done,
Who left it in such a mess?!

And what about items such as the boat,
the car, the castle, and pool?
With these, you deserve to gloat!
They're all incredibly cool.

And last but not least, the rejected toys
With missing eyes or hair or tails.
Every crazed Usuki fan enjoys
Them and bargains at all the sales!

The terrible weather has moved on,
But no one is outside to play.
The Usukis are still not gone;
They'll be played with all day!

The Usuki Battle Championship Match
By Dragonstorm_75

Rolled out was the tablecloth,
The fleece covered in rocks.
As silence fell upon the crowd,
They brought their wear-torn box.

The Usul foes took their toys,
Usukis rare as precious gold.
A bat-thing and a feathered doll,
Hidden in their cardboard fold.

One opponent defied the other,
A challenge was prompt as due.
Voices jeered and others cheered,
Against the skirmishing two.

Usuki figures of Darigan -- Kass,
With plastic claws and plastic swords,
Met in combat most powerfully,
A battle between the strongest lords.

As one Usuki struck the other,
A marionette to its owner and master,
There was a click and unanimous sigh,
At last there stood the victor!

The sword was felled from Kass's doll,
The Bat-thing claimed the match.
Both collectors shook their hands,
And left without a scratch.

Ignorant Collectors
By Carrotbreath

As Usuki Day quickly dawns upon us,
Not only the collectors make a fuss.
With every doll, there's an unknown group,
Forgotten and far from the loop.
I ask you sincerely,
Who makes these dolls?

Who put the elegant dress on...
Who added the flower on...
Who knew that was the perfect colour for...
Or who decided the size of the bows?
I ask you sincerely,
Who makes these dolls?

Do the same Usuki makers make
Those slimy Quiguki, whom many forsake?
The precision, the cut, and even the thread,
Both so similar, I'm easily misled.
How about
Who makes these dolls?

I guess I can go another year,
Without knowing at all and embrace sheer
Ignorance.

All the Rage
By Ecobabe

Usuki dolls are all the rage;
Get 'em while they're cheap!
In your shop, sit by the page,
There are benefits to reap.

Geisha, Cheerleader,
The Prom Queen,
Equestrian,
Tyrannian,
They're all keen.

Beautiful Bride,
Let me comb your hair.
Hula Girl, wait your turn,
I'm almost there.

So much to do, so much to do,
A Dream Pool, a Dream Car,
A Back-to-School set
To carry me far.

Yet as the day comes to a close,
I've got these dolls, and no one knows
I've spent my Neopoints.
That's right -- all gone.
I'm left with pretty dolls
...Can't sell and move on...

Usuki dolls are all the rage;
Get 'em while they're cheap!
In your shop, sit by the page,
There are benefits to reap.

Usuki Mania!
By Maggskaggs

I caught Usuki mania,
It happened yesterday.
I only wanted one or two --
I just wanted them to play.

I hopped over to the Bazaar,
Where, much to my surprise,
A plethora of Usukis sat,
Each in unique disguise.

I faltered at the doorstep,
Then regained my sanity.
I only wanted one or two,
What was happening to me?

How did so many Usuki dolls
Find their way into my arms?
My new obsession with them
Was causing me a bit of alarm.

Now I'm reduced to insanity,
I MUST have every doll.
I check them off on my spoiler list,
'Til I can collect them all.

I've got the Autumn Princess Usuki,
And the Carnivorous Plant one too.
My bank account has taken a beating,
But you do what you gotta do!

A warning on Usuki Convention Day,
Take it from an owner now poor:
Even if you buy only one Usuki,
You'll always be wanting some more!

Deluxe Usukicon Disaster!
By Realmofmist

Arriving early that morning,
Her entrance fee is paid.
She sets up her table,
Boxes filled ready to trade.
An Usuki Doll marathon,
An event she'll never forget.
The atmosphere is blazing,
Producing Usukicon sweat.
This Usukicon is iconic,
A confederate of concessioners.
Conflicting prices confuse consumers,
Misconduct occurs.
The crowd gets antagonised,
Throwing insults and snarls.
An ocean of moody tempers
Becoming the courtyard of Skarl.
Soon it's a chaotic disaster,
As dolls start to disappear.
She holds her boxes tight.
"What a terrible event this year!"
Pets start tearing packages,
Even the ones marked limited edition.
The collectors scream in terror,
"It's not mint in this condition!"
Traders start to hide,
Their rarities come under threat,
Hearing shouts of the crazed:
"This convention is our play set!"
She has to do something;
She needed to take quick action,
A plan to save her dolls
From the customer dissatisfaction.
Using all the extra doll cloth,
A costume began to bloom,
Ensuring it was a loose fit,
So she could run around the room.
Breaking open her Usuki Beauty Set,
She quickly applied the makeup,
Drawing on a menacing grin
In hopes the crowd would break up.
She climbs on top of a table,
Screams at the top of her lungs,
"Guess what? The Pant Devil is here!
Now gimme all your items!"
The crowd screams in terror,
As they pack up their toys and run.
"So many dolls to choose from --
Who knew Usukicon was so fun!?"
The building quickly clears out;
She is the only one around.
She admires her new set of Usukis,
Collecting them off the ground.
She stands there and laughs --
She was a master puppeteer.
"A successful Usukicon Disaster...
Can't wait until next year!"

Limited Edition
By Rainbow_daydreamer

"An excellent choice, young Zafara!"
Cried the Grarrl in the trademark pink shirt.
"You're a new connoisseur in the making.
Would you like it boxed up? It can't hurt.
I'll just wash this small smudge off the tail bow --
A smidgen of soap, not too much.
Those visitors just aren't respectful;
I keep telling them look, but don't touch.

"Now why are those ear-ribbons crimson,
When lilac's the factory standard?
I'll give you a ten percent discount for that --
We try to be quite even-handed.
I'll pop it into this display box
And tie it up tight with a bow.
Then add a gift tag and some spangles,
And you'll almost be ready to go.

"A bag with secure carry-handles,
Stamped USUKICON YEAR 12 in pink.
A free extra outfit, some stickers and pens,
And a pin badge... now what do you think?
You've got quite the eye for Usukis;
This model has instant appeal.
I've got the cash register waiting.
May I assume we have a deal?"

"We don't!" cried the little Zafara.
The salespet was terribly shocked.
"How could you refuse such a beautiful doll?
Look around -- it's the last one in stock!"
The Zafara pulled open the gift box.
"I've been trying to tell you myself...
You see, this baby Usul's my sister,
And she just fell asleep on the shelf!"

Ode to the Usuki
By Leafpool090

Ode to the Usuki Doll!
From all colours and all shapes!
From artist to disco, to farmer
That harvests apples and grapes!

Lime-green and grape-purple,
The colours of one Usuki's hair.
Deep, majestic pink,
Surely this one is the true heir!

Don't mess around with Quigukis!
You can't even pronounce their name!
Usukis are the only dolls,
The only dolls to proclaim!

O, wonderful, wonderful Usuki doll!
Your tradition still lives on!
With your colours and sizes and shapes,
You surely won't be gone!

Ode to the Usuki doll!
You bring happiness to me!
And so you do to others more!
Everyone, look and see!
Ode to the Usuki doll!
Ode to all its glory!
Surely you see its wonderful fame,
There's no need to continue this story.

Turning
By xxxmagiabellexxx

She turns the key three times;
one
two
three
And with a creak, a
whisper of a creak,
the Usuki emerges
and a sweet melody of joy,
a trill of beauty,
fills the room.
The Usuki is a ballerina
standing on her toes.
Her rosy tutu,
petal of a dress,
remains ever so still as she
turns and turns.
Her groomed face
lacks expression,
but the gentle song
is all we need for beauty.
And then the vivid music slows,
as do the ballerina's
turns and turns,
and she goes back to hide
in her box.

Perfect...
By Chax1414

Usukis are magically wonderful
and are covered with amazing colours.
But what if something unchooseable
happened to change them into a green other?

In case you haven't guessed it,
that other is a Quiggle.
And though most don't accept it,
I have just the riddle!

If you had a choice,
and be truthful,
Would you rather be happy,
or broke but beautiful?

In honour of today,
I will most certainly say this:
One cannot survive
without some sort of sense.

Quigukis are just as good,
but are Usukis better?
Answer it now,
and let it be settled.
