Today I saw,
All around Neopia, 
A rainbow of Hissi,
Such a utopia!

Red, orange, yellow, green...
A double rainbow, what does it mean?
Blue, disco, and purple, too.
Will you create one or two?

Shadow, spotted, speckled, starry;
Too bad I can't name mine Larry.
Relic, robot, plushie, glowing;
My love for them is growing! 

Camouflage, checkered, Darigan, baby;
Will your Hissi be a guy or a lady?
Brown, cloud, ghost, ice --
Can't say a color twice!

Chocolate, electric, eventide, desert;
To get one, you have to stay alert!
Halloween, island, magma, grey...
Don't be sad, it's Hissi Day!

Maractite, Maraquan, mutant, pink --
Pay attention, don't even blink!
Pastel, striped, pirate, Tyrannian...
No such thing as rhymes for that!

Transparent, royalboy, royalgirl, white...
Just be careful, they can bite!
Rainbow, skunk, and, to finish, zombie!
A happy Hissi Day, sorry, 
Not a day for Chomby!

The Mystical Hissi Knight

Of all Neopia's denizens
that are shrouded in mystery,
one happens to be
an unassuming green Hissi.

Decked in metal armor,
complete with shoulder guard,
all that's really known is
he's on a collectable card.

He's almost never encountered
and even harder to see,
so it's impossible to tell
if he's friend or enemy.

No one is sure if
he's a hero or villain.
A scoundrel and bad guy,
or defender of children and women?

Perhaps time will tell
and explore this knight more,
and tell if he is evil
or someone to adore.

Until then, keep an eye out
for this living conundrum.
Perhaps he will be an ally,
or perhaps you should run?

How Did Hissi Get Their Wings?

How did Hissi get their wings?
I wonder every day.
There's books that hold the secret,
But I can't afford to pay.

Instead, I sit and wonder
About what must have happened then --
A time when Hissi had no wings,
But I simply don't know when.

They must have slithered gracefully
Upon Neopia's floor,
Wishing they could soar above
And, in the clouds, explore.

I wonder how it happened,
That one day they could fly --
Where before they'd been so grounded,
Now they touched the sky.

Did a Hissi make a special wish
For wings and feathers, too,
Or did it simply happen,
A gift from out of the blue?

Many questions are unanswered,
Unless I read that book,
If you have one I could borrow
I'd love to take a look!

My Therapeutic Mutant Hissi Icepack

After a long game of Gormball,
my muscles go through a brawl.
They sorely ache for a relief
from feeling like ground beef.

This is when I open my freezer
to bring out my tendon pleaser.
An icepack that's forever chill,
it'll cool and calm with skill.

The Hissi faces on its topside
seem to sparkle with icy pride,
like they know they are a-one
and won't even melt in the sun.

While I may not own a real Hissi,
I do have their image on my knee.
Aiding me when I form a bruise,
this frosty pack refuses to lose.

It heals me faster than any brew,
making me feel healthy and new.
So, whenever I see a Hissi go by,
I sense a gelid lull in the sky.

The Mystical Hissi Knight

Beneath the stars in the ebony sky
And the full moon that shines so bright,
As silent as the summer breeze
Slithers the Mystical Hissi Knight.
His yellow eyes peer into the dark,
But he doesn’t say a word.
All around him Neopia sleeps,
Their slumber undisturbed.

Is he on the side of evil,
Or does he fight for what is right?
No one truly knows for sure
As he slips through the night.
Others keep their distance
And watch as he passes by.
They take his words with a grain of salt.
Does he speak truth or lies?

If this bothers him, no one knows.
He's as stoic as he is mysterious.
Yet one has to wonder about it all.
This case is certainly curious.
His purple cape flaps in the breeze.
His armor shimmers as he moves.
Yet his true intentions remain unknown,
Even the wisest it does confuse.

If you meet him while on your travels,
Then it’s best that you step aside.
Don’t attempt to make eye contact.
Don’t even pause in your stride.
His intentions have remained unknown.
What if there’s a reason?
Maybe he wishes to be a secret hero,
Or perhaps he’s plotting treason.

It’s best to keep your distance,
For there are some things best left unknown.
Just be careful as you continue
On the path to your safe, secure home.
Be careful of this strange Hissi
Who travels through the moonlight.
Hope that he’s not your enemy --
This Mystical Hissi Knight.

Ode To Robot Hissi

Metal of red, yellow, and green,
What is this lovely 'pet I’ve seen?
It’s a robot Hissi I’ve been told --
More precious than silver and gold.

Their lovely eyes shine so bright,
Emerald beacons in the night.
Though but a bulb and some wires,
Their eyes seem to glow with inner fire.

Their fearsome claws, painted red,
Fill my heart completely with dread!
They are sharp and carefully honed
And can easily sever muscle and bone.

Their engineering is a work of art.
There is perfection in every part.
Metal slides silently like scales,
And their programming never fails.

At night, in the depths of sleep,
I dream of this ‘pet I’d love to keep.
For now, I just admire from afar
And wish for one upon every star.

Hissi Of Geruptiku

Peaceful as can be,
A noise, a noise, from outside --
Who dares disturb me?

Slither from my darkness,
Stretching out my wings,
Nosy, nosy scavengers,
I shall make them sing,

The footsteps get louder,
They must be getting near.

They'll regret coming here.

I see them 'round the corner,
Baffled by the gloom.
Foolish, foolish meddlers,
I shall be their doom.

Leap from the shadows,
Chase the thieves away...
Run fast, run fast and far
Or I shall make you pay.

Empty silence, peace again...
Slither to my darkened room.

Hissi Dancers

They're full of joy and glee.
Their day has come and they are
As happy as can be!

Smiles mark their faces.
They're cheerful and bright.
Music is loud and upbeat --
It's such a wonderful sight!

Dancers here, dancers there,
Roses between their lips...
Elegantly moving as
They sway their talented hips.

The lady, she dances with
A fan that hides her smile.
Her dress is long, heels are high...
Oh! That gorgeous style!

A hat adorns his head,
Tassels sway to and fro.
Boots click to the beat;
This is a beautiful show!

It's Hissi Day and dancers are
Celebrating their special day.
Come and watch the performance
And the happiness they convey!

Sonnet Of The Wandering Hissi

But the hearth of memories still burns --
The flames flicker tenderly and warmly, too,
But they are no substitute for you. 

The brightest flame's your charming face,
Your fanged smile with your cool forked tongue --
Forked like every path you find in every place
Since you first embarked, or so the Muses sang. 

Why did you ever leave? Was adventure a must? 
What has been your journey's terrible cost?
Is Altador -- the land you love -- forever lost?

Hissi Swordsman Hat

I used to be austere and strict.
I would not dress my 'pets.
I thought they looked fine, anyway.
I never had regrets!

But Numraak begged me for a change.
My Hissi moped and cried.
He wanted something nice to wear.
He was dissatisfied.

I looked for something he could don.
I searched shops high and low.
I wanted something dapper, chic.
My 'pet would be aglow!

I saw the Hissi Swordsman Hat
And gasped with such delight.
It was a handsome, gorgeous thing.
It was a stunning sight!

A feather tucked into the brim
Is luscious, full, and thick.
It floats with ivory majesty.
A head toss makes it flick!

A scarlet ribbon wrapped around
The hat is rimmed with gold.
The hat itself is dashing brown
And curved to look so bold!

If anything, this hat would make
My Hissi dance and sing.
I make him pleased at any cost!
I'd buy him anything!

The Hissi's day is here at last,
So dress your 'pets with flair!
All Hissi are a precious breed,
Deserving love and care!
