GELERT DAY SPECIAL

Famous Gelerts
By Indulgences

The Gelerts' Day has come at last
To welcome and to cheer
The Gelerts found across this land,
On islands far and near!

The Gelert is a loyal beast.
No enemy or foe
Can possibly defeat it when
Its owner is laid low!

Some famous Gelerts do include
Celandra and one of The Three.
There's Bruno and Prince Tourin too,
And Kanrik, he's a thief.

There's Elwyn and there's Seradar,
There's Vitri Sitol, and
There's Tandrak Shaye who Yooyuballs,
Right Forward Darigan.

And last, not least, The Assassin
The Darkest Faerie hired
To kill Roberta and Tormund.
(In case you should inquire!)

These are the famous Gelerts found
In our Neopian lore.
There are no doubt a dozen more
Famed Gelerts now in store,

For Gelerts are a stunning breed.
The Gelert's here to stay.
We should be thoughtful of its past
On this, the Gelerts' Day!

The Origin of Bruno, Gelert of Neovia
By Novakira

On one fine Neovian day,
A shy, young Gelert decided to go wandering astray.
Upon the street, oh what a sight,
A beautiful Aisha passed by, looking so bright.
But alas, she already had a love,
Still the Gelert flew to her like a dove.
The Aisha's love saw what the Gelert was doing,
And punched him back, left the Gelert stewing.
Wanting, oh so much, to be handsome,
He walked past a Krawk
holding something quite awesome.
The Krawk then said, "My friend,
here I have something you clearly need,
I have a potion that will help you to lead."
The Gelert then took the potion
and gave the Krawk his pay,
And quickly and quietly went away.
On that night, the Gelert drank
the potion, every sip,
And next morning the Gelert
awoke to muscles equipped.
Soon enough, the Aisha was his love,
And the Gelert was the one to shove.
To him, this was a good ending after all,
But this was only the beginning of a long, long fall.

A Prince, A Gelert
By Anjie

Bow! Here comes the royal coach,
The Prince, the Prince, he doth approach!

The royal herald sounds his horn,
The Prince, he doth approach.
Golden Unis pull the weight
Of shining, regal coach.

Forth he steps with solemn air,
So dignified, aloof.
Gelerts of lineage fine exist,
Of this, he's walking proof.

With swagger does he amble forth,
Each subject bows their head.
The Prince lifts paw in royal wave,
The words of awe now spread.

Prince of Gelerts, commanding all,
Demanding such respect.
Loyalty above all things,
Is what he shall expect.

Draped in silks of finest cloth,
The hues coral and green.
Crown doth peak on noble brow,
Awash with golden sheen.

His lady fair stands by his side,
She'll watch him awe the crowd.
He gazes out at loyal folk,
His stance commanding, proud.

His subjects will recall his face,
For weeks, talk of the town!
A prince among the Gelert race,
So worthy of his crown.

Bow! Here comes the royal coach,
The Prince, the Prince, he doth approach!

Gelert Festivities
By Makanaoaloha

Today is fun because it is Gelert Day,
so all of Neopia will begin to say,
Gelerts are fun, cool, and smooth,
which is something they don't even have to prove.

It is all fun in the sun,
all Gelerts would go for a run,
out in Neopia Central,
or all the way to Mystery Island.

There are new items for all to collect,
just for a gallery or maybe just to regret.
It may just be a day,
but for Gelerts it is a time to celebrate.

Backwoods Breakout
By Lrisa

A young Gelert, sweet and shy,
The victim of a deceitful lie.
A potion of dreams, and there
Came the start of their nightmares.

The lady in red he hoped to impress,
Tried he did, but at him did they jest.
Beaten to the ground, his heart did shatter,
As he watched the two disappear.

A soothing stroll to comfort oneself,
He met a salesman, and wonders did he sell.
A magical mix, granting every wish,
Money did he spend, not knowing the twist.

News spread far, seeing how he changed,
Crowds did gather, with hopes of different range.
To be younger, prettier, richer, or taller,
They were found in the line, in every order.

And then, the plot was turned upside-down,
As greed took over, a new tale was found.
To fulfill their desires was just one thing,
The other -- to mutate one's being.

But the wretch was gone; who was there to blame?
A simple answer -- Bruno was the name.
Friends, neighbours, and enemies were united,
To drive the cause from their village.

Close the windows, shut the door, hide away,
Current affairs aimed to ruin their every day.
A distraction was all they needed,
Dear Bruno, he was sacrificed to the mutated.

Arm to arm, defending his family,
As reinforcements came, overpowered was he.
Farewell to brother and little sister.
To his parents he said goodbye, as he turned his tail.

Away he went, quick as he limped,
Shouts of 'Freak!' followed him.
Shedding pained tears, as fast he did flee
Weren't they all just like he?

They believed him to be a monster, but was he?
The only beast, in the mirror they should see.
Description flaws, they yearned to change,
But only their Nature was to blame.

On he ran, into the dark backwoods.
On came a search, for him they looked.
He quivered as the faces he saw,
Were the ones of company he had enjoyed before.

A young Gelert, sweet and shy,
For many nights, did he cry.
Alone and friendless, he found a home,
His cavern was the only place to roam.

As the villagers continued their addiction,
He felt ashamed and set out on a mission.
To collect the bottles and hide them away,
In hopes that they shall revert back one day.

Stones and attacks were hard to bear,
Turn on his focus; he didn't care.
To save his village from the lure of the potion,
Leaping, dodging, on as he flies and runs.
