Scorchio Celebrations!

And when the cloak does veil,
Wings of many colours fly,
Toward a grand appeal.

Carried by the winds afar,
To where the mountain lies,
Coursing with an inner flame,
'Tis framed by ashen skies.

Volcano thick with Scorchios,
They are silent as they wait,
For the sign, a puff of smoke,
The mark of today's fate.

A rumble, growing from inside,
An explosion quakes with fear!
Fire blowing from the top,
And the crowd erupts in cheer!

Gormball Superstars

Eight strong players, standing tall,
They take to the pitch, knowing all must fall
Apart from one. Who will be crowned winner
And sit at the head of the celebratory dinner?

So who are these players? What are they called?
Will the crowd be entertained or simply appalled?
We will meet them now, travelling in from afar:
Neopia's elite Gormball superstars.

Gargarox Isafuhlarg is first to arrive,
Fully recovered from last year's terrible nose dive.
Fighting fit, in the form of his life,
Will he win or face more painful strife?

Zargrold the Grundo, he seems pretty cool?
Will his relaxed attitude make him look like a fool?
He says it's not winning, but taking part that counts,
I think that's just a ploy, he's ready to pounce!

Ursula the Usul, not seen for six years,
She's been training with blood, sweat, and tears.
She's finally come down from her mountain camp,
Ready to perform and become this year's champ!

Ember the Fire Faerie, totally focussed,
A competent player, even though she's the youngest.
She knows what she wants and what she must do,
It's predicted she'll finish within the top two!

Farvin III, he's travelled the farthest.
His six, yes six, ears mean he hears the clearest.
This Alien Aisha predicts when the ball will go
Which is why he's a favourite, a seasoned pro.

Kevin the Korbat, the last minute sub,
Finally arrives from amidst the hubbub.
He's not the best, but he's willing to try,
His best game play skill? His ability to fly!

Brian the Scorchio, he's known to cheat.
He's lucky the organisers allowed him to compete!
Kicked out last year, what a terrible shame,
But this year he's promised us a much fairer game.

And then there was one, Thyassa the Chia,
Ranked Number 1 throughout all of the year!
Expected to win, some say it's for sure,
His aggressive play will no doubt bring him rewards.

So here they all are, this year's strong eight.
Some are relaxed, and some are irate!
But all seem prepared and ready to play,
So let the games begin without further delay!

Koya the Korbat Huntress

Alabaster, petite flash,
Amongst the emerald glade.
The forest huntress darts beyond,
Her focus, her crusade.

A Korbat maiden on a quest,
Within the dark jade land.
A heroine on noble quest,
Her sword drawn close at hand.

Swift and sure does Koya sweep,
On spanned wings shall she glide.
The forest winds so soft and warm,
Doth give a silken ride.

Beneath the canopy of jade,
The Korbat lass shall dwell.
Suppressing trouble that may lurk,
Such trauma, she doth quell.

Protector, noble and serene,
Her blade between each claw.
Her wary gaze shall flicker fast,
As silent, she does soar.

From tree to wild and ancient tree,
The Korbat maiden sweeps.
Ever watching, all the time;
Beneath, the forest sleeps.

Silent motion, rapid grace,
Webbed wings spanned soft and wide.
From Koya's gaze and noble heart,
No darkness here can hide.
