Acara, Alone
By Reggieman721

Acara sits in barren cage.
Behind those metal bars she waits
And hopes that someone will come by
To change her lonely, hopeless fate.

Old Doctor Death walks through the hall,
His footsteps sounding dimly there.
Keys jingle at his belted waist,
And all the pets at him do stare.

They hope that this will be their day
To leave their wretched lives behind.
To be picked up by someone new:
Someone gentle, someone kind.

Potential owner likely waits
In lobby of the agency.
Just one of these abandoned pets
Will get to have a family.

Acara stares from barren cage
In hopes that Doctor Death will say
To her that it is time to go,
That today is her lucky day.

But with a click, the young pet hears
Him open someone else's door.
Another pet cries out with joy.
Her hopes are dashed, destroyed once more.

The lucky one walks down the hall
And silence fills the room again.
Acara lies down on the ground
And wonders why... and wonders when.

The Memory Of Conflict
By Anjie

Take a moment, bow your head,
Recall all that we saw.
A time when land was in turmoil,
Tyrannia at war.

Monoceraptor walked the land,
Left ruin in his wake.
Under beast's gigantic claws,
Did barren plateau quake.

Elders council did convene,
Who could stop monster's reign?
Would all creatures fight as one,
So peace would dwell again?

Boulders tumbled, rocks did fall,
As battle long did rage.
On this day we do recall,
The battle all did wage.

Luck at last did grace our side,
The beast at last did fall.
"Victory to all who fought!"
Came celebrated call.

Ancient realm that day restored,
So many years ago.
Tyrannia had fought as one,
To beat that wicked foe.

Keep in mind the time long past,
Recall war once again.
Keep in mind we did unite,
And would do so again.

Let the warning be to all,
Tyrannia is strong.
We'll battle for the land we love,
To free it of what's wrong.

The Maraquan Paint Brush
By Goldenguppiesjeez

The Maraquan Paint Brush transforms,
One's simple Neopet
Into a creature suited for the depths.

Soft fur into gleaming scales,
Strong limbs into flexible tentacles,
Tufty ears into translucent fins.

The basic colours replaced,
Vivid blue, sea green, pale purple,
Shades of the obscure depths.

The delicate hues of coral,
Soft pink, tranquil orange, placid yellow
Blend to create something new.

White foam upon the beach,
Dark waves lapping the shores,
Altered by the brush,
The depths beckon to your Neopet.

The Tubular Kiko
By Icesmith

The water, a myriad of silver and blue,
Cascades and splashes his face,
As the wet crystal and sand rush up high,
And the Kiko begins the race.

Soaring down, the crowds do cheer,
Yet all he sees is a blur,
As the cooling rapids push him so fast,
And the hasty speed produces a stir.

Left and right, he controls his tube,
With such dignity and grace,
Avoiding the islands, arrows, and rocks,
The seething cool air he does embrace.

The tweeting of Petpets and the churning of waves,
Intertwined with such buzz,
Relax the Kiko with immense success,
Yet all of these soon become a fuzz.

As the ending flag waves in the air,
Above the rapids, so grand,
And the cheering crowd with banners applauds
As this feisty Kiko approaches the sand.

And so with a last push and a hasty shove,
The Kiko forces the tube ahead,
And as he passes the glorious finish,
On the sand he rests his head.

There Once Was a Beast Named Turmaculus...
By Unoffensive

We're here once again now, Turmaculus.
Every day, as you know,
we're back to customarily see,
my Petpet and me,
if you'll do more than just roll your back to us.

Kick harder, my Petpet! Ker-smack! Phew! Has
it had any effect on Turmaculus?
No, just as before,
a mumble, a snore,
from that fat lazy beast! Grrr! Ack! Boo! Hiss!

We're not giving up, you Turmac, you. Plus,
this time we're acting per Count von Roo's
advice to us: Choose
the right hour to wake up Turmaculus.

You'll be woken by this better tack. You must!
It's working! Good morning, Turmaculus!
Now what's that you say?
Haven't eaten all day?
Well, I'm sure you'll find food. Your snack?

...W-who, us?
