Korbat Night
By Wicked_summer

In Brightvale the forest slumbers,
Birdsong silenced, creatures still.
On Mystery Isle the forests sleep,
The heat a blanket on dale and hill.
But the Haunted Woods are ever wakeful,
Ready to hunt and kill.

Many eyes glow in the shadows there,
Many teeth snap from cover of dark.
Creatures covered in scales or hair,
Claws bared and aimed at their mark.

A denizen swoops and swerves and soars,
Over a forested sea.
For this night he disobeys all Haunted Woods laws,
For this night, just this night, he flies free.

Twisting and falling and vaulting and turning,
Under a scythe-shaped moon.
Under the stars, so coldly burning,
Across the deep-dark strewn.

This is a special night,
As every fool knows.
When the line between dark and light
Smudges and flows.

In Brightvale the forest slumbers,
Birdsong silenced, creatures still.
On Mystery Isle the forests sleep,
The heat a blanket on dale and hill.
And the Haunted Woods are ever wakeful,
But just for one night, in goodwill.

The Jetsam Shoal
By Stariell

Clear water, cool and deep,
Fins gliding, sleek and bright,
Sun lighting on prismatic scales,
Or moonlit glints, by night.
When they close to the surface swim,
Waves churn up as they pass,
Looking down reveals a glimpse,
As though seen through crystal glass.

Scales blue as the water's hue,
Shades of red and gold and green,
Imperial purple, glowing, starred,
Or silvered and robotic sheen.
Tiny Jetsams chase the shoal,
Swimming each tail to tail,
Tentacles red and sharply tipped,
Some with polychromatic scales.

Leaping lightly through the waves,
Beneath which they were born,
Where they're going, who can say,
Nor yet where they have gone.
Soon there is not a trace of them,
To show they have been near,
Just memory of the Jetsam shoal,
And the shining water, clear.

The Draik Gargoyle
By Anjie

Stagnant though the wind will blow,
Whipping breezes,
Tempests flow.
Motionless is statue, though,
Sentinel of walls below.

Granite statue, crouching Draik,
Unblinking sits,
Alert, awake.
Yet within the heart doth ache,
Chains he longs to cast off, break.

Gargoyle or mere statue form,
Nightfall beckons,
He'll transform.
No longer forced to sit, conform,
He'll ride the clouds of shadowed storm.

Beneath the rotund pallid sheen,
Draik soars above,
Wings span, form lean.
Creature meets the stars unseen,
The world below a veiled green.

Talons scrape the onyx night,
Sheaths expand,
In silent flight.
Free to glide 'til debut light,
Returning then to lonely plight.

Caught once more in sunlight's haze,
Draik is perched,
Vacant gaze.
Cursed to guard here all his days,
Motionless, though soul doth blaze.

The Pteri's Prize
By Mamasimios

High above in Tyrannian skies
Each eager Pteri takes a place
Vying for the ultimate prize
In the Annual Championship Flying Race.

Stretching out his feather'd wings
One young Pteri, heart a-pounding,
Muscles strained like coiled springs,
In his ears, his pulse resounding.

Waiting for the starting flare,
Flocking flyers jostle, bump,
Our young Pteri in the air
Off the cue misses the jump.

And so behind the crowd he flies
Over the Tyrannian Plateau.
Concert Hall, Omelette he spies
On the ground so far below.

O'er the Jungle now they soar,
Above Mini Golf, Volcano Run,
And in such numbers! Hundreds? More!
A brood enough to blot the sun.

The young Pteri reaches further,
Finds unknown stores of strength.
Youth can trump the more mature
In a race of such prodigious length.

The circuit now is near complete;
Our young friend amid the throng
With those who would aspire to defeat
The proud of wing and chirruped song.

The finish is too close to call,
A crush of Pteris closed in a pack.
Officials deem the youngster first of all,
Naming him the new hero of Pterattack.

The Quest for Keys
By Keikotoriyamacatnip

Enter a faraway world
Where gamers love to play.
Challenge your opponents,
Countless duels in a day.

Whether there are four,
Or two racing to prevail,
Players join the game,
None wanting to fail.

Players move around
A vast board of chance.
Roll the die with luck,
Watch the tokens dance.

Power-ups and keys,
Collecting along the way.
Oh no! Here comes a sticky hand
To cause much dismay.

Three, two, just one more
Space until the glowing door.
With five keys in hand,
It is time to even the score.

The die is cast and lands,
The winner is declared.
On to the vault of gold,
Where good fortune is shared.

In this faraway world,
Where gamers love to play,
Key Quest rules all,
Played countless times a day.
