The Price of Glory By Chubby216

My paws drag as we approach once again
A place we have been a mere 12 hours before
This time not in glory, but defeat.
Her cloud reeks of failure
From the millions of others
That have attempted to do her bidding.
How dare we try to compete?
A small Aisha, gold in color
That shines like the sun,
A Lupe, streaked with the fire
Of his volcanic home,
A Shoyru, shadowed with mystery,
And a Meerca, oozing Christmas spirit,
Had no hope of delivering her demented requests.
A Swamp Lupe Neoquest Plushie?
A Vacumatic 9000?
A Rainbow Evil Fuzzle?
We drained our owner's coffers
Buying levels 1 through 29,
A Deluxe Jacket Potato,
Morphing potions of every shape and size,
Plushies of every color.
Her requests became erratic and absurd.
Three times we have tried,
Three times we have failed.
Jhudora's Cloud leads not to
A woman with a mission,
But a woman on a quest to
Destroy the hard work of millions.
She tempts you with easy quests,
Only to shoot you down with rare artifacts,
That even if you were able to buy them
Would you relinquish them
After spending 200,000 NP?
Yes, we would, if we had the chance.
Because the price of glory is high.
So, we head again up the long stairs
Of Jhudora's Cloud
With hopes that this time,
Maybe this time,
We can raise our heads high in glory.

Close your eyes, smell the ocean,
flutter in the breeze...

By Vampire_commander_v

Close your eyes, smell the ocean,
Flutter in the breeze.
Down, down, the endless lands,
And over seven seas.
Raise your head, watch the moon,
Silvery and white.
See the bluish shadow
Of a Shoyru in its flight.

Swooping, gliding, a silver pair of wings,
Radiant, illuminating, the silence that it brings.

Its eyes are like the clearest crystal,
Majestic to the core.
Until they turn a darkened black,
As underneath it soars.

Its body is of the purest silver,
Blinding to the tip.
Claws with razor shears at point,
Strength to never slip.

Under the moon, in the gorge,
Just him without a sound.
Neopets that are sleeping now,
Silence all around.
He glides and swoops and passes by,
all we cannot see.
His speed and grace is all we know,
All we can believe.

All we can do is close our eyes,
And flutter with the breeze.
Down, down, the endless lands,
And over seven seas.
If the silver Shoyru can,
And truly does exist,
That it may be the slurking, sliding,
Shadow in the mist.
If it may, if it shall,
If it dwells as it may seem.
Then let it live forevermore,
On the edge of dreams.

Ssssssh...can you hear him?
Can you feel the light?
Close your eyes, try to dream,
A shadow in the night.

Oh what a joy Meerca's are...
By Stephchu2000

Oh what a joy Meerca's are,
You can see them bouncing from afar.
Hug them anytime you want,
They will soon form a close bond.

Look at its sweet, innocent smile,
But it's only well behaved for a while!
For when you turn your back on it,
You might not know your sandwich is bit.

Meercas are quite naughty things,
Stealing all your necklaces and rings.
It's small as a mouse and faster than a hound,
And it can slip away, without a sound.

But even if you complain and cry,
The Neopolice can try and try,
But these Meercas are very well taught,
And always get a away, without getting caught.

The Painted Kougra By Faerie_queen_2

One Kougra was purple, Christmas,
Brown and white,
Halloween, Faerie, with wings that took flight.
It was orange and green and black and blue,
Skunk and pink and spotted too.
Yellow and speckled and rainbow colors,
Puce, pomegrantate, asparagus, and others.
Shadow and robot and silver and gold.
Mutant that made it look ugly and old.
Flower and disco, desert and ice,
And other colors which aren't very nice.
With letters and pictures, red, white and blue,
And even was painted a bit Blumaroo.
Tan and island and snow and red,
Then it looked at it's jumbled up colors and said,
"Oh it would do that I have lied,
But this is what happens when I can't decide!"

The Ruins of Maraqua: Everlasting Tomb
By Faithful_maggot

Shrouded in mystery, guarded by fear
The desolate ruins endure year after year
The bravest Pets venture, and offer only a guess
Of what put this wasteland of lost souls to rest

Some say 'twas fire, others say war
Still others say winds greater than any before
The most likely guess, and you will agree
Was pride in its greatness drove it into the sea

The winds screamed in terror,
And stripped the land bare
The mountains fell to earth,
And ever since they lay there
The people were filled
With a heart-wrenching doom
The great island then fell, an everlasting tomb

From that day forward Neopia understood
That too much pride can do you no good
In a lesson learned hard on that one fateful day
The self-righteousness of the world
Was forever torn away
