The Battle Jubjub

Virtupets’ distress signals are deciphered.
The praxis of conflict rears its ugly head.
From the corners of Neopia, all its fighters
Are ordered to join the planet’s defense.

“Dr. Sloth invading again?” a brute voice
Scoffs into his encapsulating interface.
The Battle Jubjub weighs his choices,
And decides to join the fight in space.

Upon arrival, the strain of battle echoes. 
A red light flashes quietly— a broken alarm—
Then the Battle Jubjub hears his fellow
Troopers cry, “Anti-spacecraft disarmed!”

“Engage the lock on the landing door!”
The Jubjub yells. The galloping of his feet
Reverberates down the steel corridor;
Fight or flight instinct becomes necessary.

The troopers surround the Battle Jubjub
Striding forward, taking a natural lead.
As the last line of physical defense lets up,
He grins, "Don't worry, I’ve never known defeat.”

The Darigan Jubjub Terror

In a castle high upon night clouds
With turrets lit by the moon
Where dungeon games are well renowned
And spyders slumber in the rooms.
Across corridors and in the halls
Where Darigan's courtiers meet,
He prances graceful, slithers, sneaks,
The famous prankster-cheat.

He's advised the greatest in these lands
Warred with Kass in days of old,
He sits in Darigan's council room
Strategising with the bold.
But what sets his scarlet eyes flashing
And his dark toes wiggling with glee,
Is a good old prank, a well-timed trick,
A chaotic jubilee.

So his dart-quick ruby wings do flutter
And his royal coat dashes by;
He's pulled the wigs off dignitaries
He's shoe-laced officers on the sly.
He likes to leave itching powder in
The bedrooms of the guards,
And oftentimes Darigan has found
His throne-room brimming with Cobralls!

He's a thief of night and a con of cards
And he knows every trick in the book;
He scouts for spies and turncoats for
The court's only allowed one crook.
When an attendant slips on a zeenana peel,
Or a lord's souffle is cornupeppered,
They all sigh and admit defeat
To the Darigan Citadel terror.

The Prized Purple Potion: A Jubjub Anew

At the Magic Shop I sit,
Waiting for a stock.
I'm not liking this one bit.
Quite bored, I watch the clock.

Finally, new wares arrive!
The time has come to buy.
Help me, please! I can't decide!
Such grand colors! Oh, my!

Purple Jubjub Morphing Potion
Is my final choice.
It will set my dream in motion
Of looks full of joy!

I'm about to give the drink
To my sweet, precious pet.
However, there's a scrape, she thinks—
"You paid too much, I bet!"

Sure enough, it costs much less
In shops owned by my peers.
Yet I cannot fix this mess
Since it's already mine. Oh, dear!

My pet tells me, "Nevertheless,
I'd like my violet hue."
I give her this absolute best

I'm overjoyed while watching her—

The evening grows colder by the hour,
Rain clouds clear after torrent shower.
Winter chills come in waves with lingering respite,
Dark and hazy on this very night.

Glance up and you will see a full orb of yellow,
The center bright but the circumference mellow.
It illuminates the sky with its singular gleam,
With wispy clouds passing like a dream.

Tonight is the night, it’s that time again,
For transformation and the routine pain.
Every month – in a cycle, a loop,
He becomes the infamous Mutant Jubjub.

His flesh twists and skin vibrates,
Spine tingles and hair stands straight.
Fur sprouts from every pore,
Claws erupt from paws – all four.

A monster, he is,
This giant tentacled beast.
Muscular, violent, animalistic by nature’s law,
His eyes fixate on the moon and he lets out a roar.

The night is freezing but he pays no mind,
He is too far removed from common Jubkind.
Yet his other senses sharpen,
Sight, smell – and then – 
With no warning and plenty of haste,
He leaves this haunted site behind.
