Living in Neopia or When Appearances Matter
By Aristaea

Is your home made of jelly?
Does it melt in the sun
And make your furniture sticky;
Can it feed everyone?

Are your walls only clouds
That float in the breeze?
Are your rooms rearranged
When your Neopets sneeze?

Gold and silver are shiny,
And expensive to boot.
Get Transparishield walls
And make privacy moot!

If you crave some Mystery,
Why not try bamboo?
Get that tropical flair
That looks fabulous, too.

For a home that appears
To be made of blocks,
Buy stone, brick or marble
(Most beautiful of rocks).

White or plain chocolate?
Oh, what will you choose?
Why not alternate rooms,
And then you can't lose!

Don't overlook cardboard,
Twigs, straw, and wood.
With a little attention,
Any home can look good.

And if it turns out
That you can't decorate,
You can always hire me;
Write my office for rates.

A Day in the Desert
By Fa11enstar

Selkets swiftly scuttle;
Anubi frolic over the dunes.
Shopkeepers happily sell their products,
with smiles on their faces
they hum sunny golden tunes.

The sun glints off the sand.
Like a thousand diamonds the desert glistens.
Lost Desert is where I am;
it has many stories to tell
if you will stop to listen.

Full of mystery and betrayal is Sakhmet Palace.
Ancient secrets are held in Coltzan's Shrine.
So much question and turmoil is held in this sand,
if you dig deep who knows what you may find?

I hustle and bustle and I run through the shops,
spending all my Neopoints and passing the time.
Laughing, I go to play desert games.
Scarab 21 and Swarm are favorites of mine!

Unfortunately, now the radiant sun is setting;
the beautiful sights, however,
I won't be forgetting.
I wonder about this mystical magical place,
as the sun winks goodbye
and drifts off into space.

Good night sun, and hello moon!
Good night Lost Desert, I will be back soon!
To all of the mystery, pleasure, and delight,
I'll be back soon but for now good night!

Faerie Dreams
By Sweetiepieswimmer74

A young Faerie sits upon a rock by the sea,
and dreams of what is to be.
All her life she sat on her rock-bound throne,
until she was completely grown.

She was afraid to leave her watery asylum,
and live what was meant to come.
If she had taken a single stride
and changed the ever consistent tide,
she wouldn't have been caught in a reverie,
she would have lived what was to be.

Instead she sits on the boulder there,
running her fingers through her hair,
watching the sun sink to the ocean floor,
waiting for someone to knock on her door.

Don't ponder on what your mind drew,
get out there where dreams come true.
Be what you want to be,
and don't get stuck on your rock by the sea.

Baelia's Sonnet
By jen_has_pets

In her mountain prison the Grey Faerie sits,
Taunted and scared by darkness and shadows,
Guarded by magic with no key that fits,
Longing to fly high over the meadows.
Meeting by chance a quick-witted creature,
Who challenged the magic with games of chance,
Having to guess an obvious feature,
The lock agreed with a confident glance.
With one question Tavi knew the answer,
Guessing the name of the magical lock.
It sadly released the joyful prisoner,
Baelia was free of her confining dock.
The two pals departed, hearts leaping the same
Now what to discover, Baelia's new name!

The Curse of the Rotten Cheese Omelette
By Funkymonarch

There was once a cheese omelette,
That had green mold all up its side.
One day a Meerca came along,
It ate a bit then died.
Its owner blamed it on bad luck,
Nothing like this had occured before,
He tried to forget about the omelette,
But then one day a man knocked on the door.

"I have come about the cheese omelette,
Have you still got it, sir?" he said.
The owner looked curiously at the man,
And slowly shook his head.
"I have not got the omelette sir,
I chucked it right away,
But a rich man came and bought it, though,
And he has it on display."

After being told where the omelette was,
The stranger set out on his quest,
Why would someone go buy some food
That most people would detest?
He arrived at the house, a palace of gold,
Standing high above the ground,
A river ran right 'round the palace,
And the fish swam 'round and 'round.

But this was the only movement here,
For inside all was still,
The stranger thought that the place was empty,
And this was right until,
The stranger entered the main palace hall,
The omelette's owner was on the ground,
His face was pale, he drew no breath,
He didn't make a sound.

Then the omelette appeared and rose high up,
And hovered in the air,
The stranger gasped in amazement,
At this strange sight the man did stare.
"Behold the evil cheese omelette,
I carry the curse of death,
It was I who vanquished the beloved Meerca,
And I'm the reason for this man's last breath.

But now I shall diminish,
And far away I'll fly,
Away from here is where I shall stay,
'til 1,000 years have gone by.
I will return to continue the curse,
And wreak havoc on the world!"
Then into thin air the omelette buzzed,
And through the door it swirled.
