In the lovely world of Meridell

A vast array of things to do
To occupy your time

And many more that I could say

But my favorite thing to do there
When I'm vacationing from the sea
Is to leave civilization behind
For the company of the trees

Among these silent companions
I have time to meditate
On the joys and woes of Neopian life
And my current state

Their leaves scatter the sunlight
In such intriguing ways
That I'm held captive by the patterns
And fall into a blissful daze

The sweet aroma of the earth
Carried on the breeze
Lulls me into a sense of peace
With such genuine ease

Underneath their winding branches
In their cool and shadowed keep
The sun's oppressive heat is gone
And I drift off to sleep

Now, my friend, I ask you
To consider this, if you please
Take a trip to Meridell
And revel in the trees

Midnight

Poisoned petals wasted
on a flow of acid rain;
mind and body shiver,
spirit sent insane.

Darkness never ending,
heart is ripped in two,
leaves black will melt your faith,
no matter what you do.

Twisted branches cut you down,
sharp as diamond stone.
Splits your skin that's burning,
slices through the bone.

Mind is filled with fires ash,
black like darkest coal,
takes a hold of any dream
and burns it with your soul.

Freedom doesn't happen here,
it's locked into its core.
It doesn't have a way to leave,
there is no exit door.

You scream so loud, at least you try
but sound is not released.
Your lifeforce has been drained from you
and light has come to cease.

Where is the star of which you dreamed?
A million miles 'way,
travelling across the night
whilst you just fade away.

Echos raging, distant sounds
play eerie in your mind,
thoughts of hope within these parts,
they do not take too kind.

Sanctuary is out of reach,
but lest you should forget
the torment and the inner pain
has barely started yet.

This is the start of what's to come
for soon your mind will see
this pain you're in has just begun
for all eternity!

Because all of these things I find quite drab.

For besides my tail, I've nothing to dred.
