Grey Kougra
By Sarahleeadvent

Soft sun falling warmly across hill and field
Wildflowers welcome the light silently
I crouch in the shadows, dark clouds are my shield
The sun may shine down, but it won't shine on me.

Zephyrs alight playfully upon the grass
Whispering like the cool waves on the shore
I hear the wind calling, and I let it pass
No soft breeze can touch my grey fur anymore.

The warm rain falls sweet
and fresh from a silver sky
It dances in rivulets, seeking the sea
It swirls around me, and I don't know why
But rain somehow turns cold when it falls on me.

The sun is veiled; the wind's voice rises to wail
The rain-kissed sea lashes into angry foam
The cries of lost demons seem to haunt the gale
The shadows are mine, and the storm is my home.

A sad phantom realm can be seen in my eyes
Each limp-pawed step speaks of a tragedy borne
Drooped ears and striped tail that refuse to rise
Such is a grey Kougra, quiet and forlorn.

Clouds in my grey eyes and my heart in the clouds
A cycle of sadness for eternity
I watch the world from behind a dreary shroud
Light may come to some, but it can't come to me.

Cinquains for the Elemental Faeries
By Plumgrove

Splendour
Illuminates
The world beneath the sky
Wheels like the sun's aurora
Sweet light

Flaming
Yellow-red sparks
Now scintillate, now fly
They warm and flutter like spirits
Swift fire

Droplets
Wet breaths beneath
Become a fountain's spray
Clear and bright-eyed and rejoicing
Water

Zephyr
Cool nothingness
That sings the wind's music
And tastes of the velvety sky
Air's dance

The land
Soft and green shore
Life within awakens
Lithe and blossoming from deep roots
Soft earth

Nightfall
Twilight with stars
Descends, black and solemn
Quiet rest follows like a cloak
Darkness

Faeries
Gentle maidens
Of six-fold enchantment
Light, fire, water, air, earth, darkness
Magic

This Mysterious Quetzal
By Genetixs

Deep within the jungle
In Mystery Island's north
There is a Grarrl explorer
Pacing back and forth

Far in the distance
A deserted temple lies
lost inside the jungle
Beneath the foreign skies

The explorer hears a rustle
beneath a tree
but where the rustle came from
the sun is blocked by the canopy

The explorer roars in frustration
at the shade that blocks his sight
Until a little baby Quetzal
Comes out into the light

He sits on a nearby tree stump
And sketches what he sees
That sweet little baby Quetzal
Beneath the spreading trees

That Quetzal does inspire
that intrepid explorer to seek
the many types of Quetzal
all of them unique

The explorer heads to Maraqua
to find a Quetzal there
and to his joy he finds one
and avoids despair

He then goes to Darigan,
the floating citadel
He does find a Quetzal
It's bright red and evil as well.

He then gives up his quest for Quetzals,
hangs up his explorer's hat.
he's happy with his Quetzals,
and that's the end of that.

The Fairest of Them All
By Sunbeams

There are those who may attest
That Taelia wears her beauty best
Or Illusen in her glade of green
With auburn locks she does so preen.
But despite their beauty, I believe
Of perfected grace I do conceive
Their splendour will not deem them
The fairest of them all.

In the end, it is said
The fairest of them all is lead
On a journey, does she embark
Not by looks but by her heart.

A twisted lock of copper hair,
Wings that shimmer with golden dust,
A smile as warm as it is rare
A candle in the dark.

A fire lit in night's cold glare
A sniff of spices, a hint of hare,
The evening's stew is cooling fast,
But hunger will not make it last.
A grateful glance, a quick refill,
A content face and all is still.

They say that beauty is skin deep;
You reap what's sown, you sow what's reaped.
But I attest that this is false
For beauty comes from not the skin
But deep, deep down within
From the heart, out through the smile
Down the hands that offer kindness
To all who need it.

There are those who may attest
That Taelia wears her beauty best
Or Illusen, it does so seem
Whose vibrant hair does reign supreme.
But I attest that none can compare
Is as ever kind, or as ever fair

As the beautiful faerie who serves the soul Who banishes hunger, fear, and cold.
Indeed, in all of Neopia, there a soul is nary
As stunning as the kind Soup Faerie.
Whose warming love does warm the night,
Whose smile and eyes do gleam so bright
The fairest of them all.

Cybunnies of Terror Mountain
By Anni_icypole

Plowing through snow that's ever so cold,
Free to roam the land,
With soft white fur, shining like gold,
And paws instead of hands.

The colours, yellow, green, red, blue,
Paint the collars and paws,
The collar twinkles with drops of dew,
Underneath the square-shaped jaw.

The wide, round eyes sport a soft pink,
To match their fluffy ears,
Their long lashes flutter when they blink,
They've been this cute for years!
