Once upon a time a hard found rarity,
Now, increasingly shown with charity.
Small dragons whose heads still stand so tall,
Whose bodies shrink surprisingly small.

The Draiks are such a noble breed,
Whose birth brings forth a fervent creed.
While egg or portion may summon forth,
They now defend their mighty swarth.

As Draiks swarm o'er this familiar land,
They take their fellow pets in hand;
In multitudes they gather and grow,
And seek to protect their friends below.

Hatching a Draik

Over lush verdant fields, crisp clear air with a gentle breeze
Blows in northbound from the Meridellian shores of the Neopian seas
The home of legends, and heroes of lore
A place of castles, of markets, with their stalls of swords and armor
Yet one particular merchant, shop nestled in the fresh-plowed sod
Stocks a cargo so precious, a treasure, it’s a taunt and a tease

The coveted good is none other than a Draik Egg, one of any variety
Red, blue, green, and yellow round out the basic primaries,
Yet more opulent eggs may still glisten in the portly Meerca’s stash
Ice, Darigan- these splendid colours are well worth the cash
Hark, however- wary words before a prospective purchase
Proceed nimbly to snag an egg amongst the peas, meat, and dairy

Those who succeed, those who beat the crowd with a stroke of luck
Still have a final choice to make for the egg their quick hands did pluck-
‘Tis the Neopian who chooses their lustrous egg’s new fate
Considered a delicacy by some, Draik Eggs may be gourmet- but wait!
The wise do tell of a place, a hidden, cavernous retreat
Set deep within the grottos, beneath grassy meadows, coated in muck

For this place, this warm, stuffy lair, is a most sacred nest
A vestige of times of old, where Draiks would come to rest
Yet once you have searched, trekked, traveled, and sought out the place
You may pull out your egg, hands shaking and heart in a race
Nestle it gently atop the prominent straw-strewn rock
Breath bated, you gaze at the egg as cracks begin to form at the crest

For a new Draik is hatching, and it yawns, pokes through its shell
Hands outstretched, you beam, and welcome the latest citizen of Meridell

When You're Awake-Get a Draik

I never thought I would be known of,
Cause well, you know I'm a Draik,
But someone liked my scaly tail,
And thought it took the cake.

She showed me all the things I had to brag of,
And she knows that getting recognized is tough,
But now I know of my glittering red eyes,
And perfectly chiselled cheeks I have.

My wings are something to boast of,
They gracefully curl when I soar in the air,
Did you know that I can exhale fire?
It's a thing that makes you stare.

Some unoriginal Neopians these days I hate,
They like neopets with a bushy mane,
No reptilian pets for them, I guess,
Else, my hair will be a big, bad mess!

Charming Pink Draik Gown

The aura of this Draik can be seen from within.

With skin that shines in the pale moonlight,
Gives unsuspecting Neofolks quite the fright.

Its speckled wings send it flying high,'
Over houses and castles and passers by.

So how did it come to be such a ghostly glow,
And what secrets does this haunted creature know?

One thing is for sure about the Ghost Draik,
If you're lucky, a great companion it will make!

The Draik Who Sells Such Stunning Robes

Traveling o’er hill and dale
Will lead you to grassy Brightvale.
Maybe you've come for some books,
Yet there's more to see. Just look!

Fruits so juicy, scrolls so swell
Aren't too far from Meridell.
Yet Brightvale has a store
Which will never be a bore.

Operated by a Draik,
The finest armor is purveyed
At this shop. He smiles and says,
"Hello. May I help you, my friend?"

"How can cloth armor help me?
I think this is quite crazy!"
"Its magic is very bright.
Spells will help you win the fight!"

"Oh, I see. Those cloaks look great!"
"How about this stunning cape?
Its great power is unmatched.
This sweet deal I would snatch!"

"I will buy it! It's so grand,
The finest armour in the land."
You pay, then give this awesome tool
To your pet. He'll surely rule!

It is always worth your time
To buy this armor so sublime.
Thank the Draik for selling these
Wondrous items sure to please.

Valrigard the Draik

Always ready to find an escape,
he is an hero without a cape.
Valrigard, the brave Draik,
he is more agile than an ape.

He was imprisoned in Meridell,
the exact place he couldn't tell.
Valrigard, the fearless Draik,
was kept in a castle not in a cell.

Many Grarrls and Korbats he fought,
but a great escape he had thought
Valrigard, the courageous Draik, 
was thankful for the sword he brought.

Luckily, he was still able to fly,
his flying skills he couldn't deny
Valrigard, the valiant Draik,
escaped the castle on his first try.

He was confident in the escape he found,
he had to fly to the top from the ground.
Valrigard, the challenging Draik,
was flying faster than the light and sound.

He flown away along with the blast,
this escape was surely his last.
Valrigard, the bold Draik,
can't change nor hide his past.

The Baby Draik is Pink

The Baby Draik if you didn't know,
Is Pink as Pink can be,
But why is this its default shade?
Why not Speckled or Starry?

Pink is a very cute colour,
But what about for boys?
Is it hard for them to be Pink,
And experience Baby joys?

Some boys would prefer Blue I know,
While still some more like Green,
But still the Baby Draik is Pink,
No matter where it's seen.

Some say this does not matter,
That both girls and boys can be,
As Pink as they would like,
No matter if they're she or he.

I have to say that I agree,
An owner should not care,
If your Draik Boy is Baby and Pink,
Surely that makes him rare?

Each Draik is important,
No matter how they look,
Whether they're Chocolate, Darigan, Desert, Fire,
Or Pirate with a hook!

So cherish your Draik if he's Baby,
And love him still if he's not,
And if he wants to be a bit different,
A good owner should say 'So what?'
