Come With Me to the Milky Way

After a long arduous day,
I am ready to hit the hay,
cosy in bed and nodding off,
a sudden jolt, and awake once more,
before me there be a creature mooing,
"come with me to the milky way"

A Starry Kau,
with dark blue coat like midnight,
and stars that are shining bright,
She hovered across the room,
but with eyes fixated on me as if
waiting for an answer. 

Maybe I was too tired to think,
the idea though spontaneous
is also very enticing,
perhaps sometimes actions need no meaning.
Again she whispered those words of pursue,
"come with me to the milky way"

On her back I climb and we took off,
ascending to greater heights,
She led us to a realm of whole new sights,
we bathe in the mass of glitter dust,
greeted stars with or without names,
an adventure that is anything but tame.

Wild Kaus

Some days I come home from the Trading Post
With the same stuff I brought the same morning at most
Another dull day on Mystery Island's coast
No profits today, nothing to boast

But on the walk back to my house
Every time I pass by the Meridellian plains
I watch in the distance herds of wild Kaus
Relieves all of my pain
Indeed it does lengthen my route
Wild Kaus keep my thoughts sane

Some days I have spun every wheel
Won nothing, no luck still
Went around Neopia, done all my dailies
Came home empty-handed, same for these

But on the walk back to my house

Sweeps away the rain
Indeed it takes one more minute
That's why I stray from my lane

Then on Kau celebration day
I take the time, go off my way
To go tell them what they really mean to me
To thank them for soothing my mind so gracefully
I said "Kaus you keep boredom at bay,
With the way in the grass you peacefully lay"
One of them hands me generously
A morphing potion to use on my buddy
Said "Now you can carry with you
One of us Kaus, enjoy the view"

Kau Day is Here!

At once it has come, Kau day is here!
So let us all begin, a glorious cheer.
Today we celebrate, our 4-legged friend,
Let us hope that today shall never end!

Parades and events will be held all around,
Roo Island, Moltara, and the Deserted Fairground!
All of Neopia will join as one,
To observe Kau day, and enjoy the fun!

New items will stock in stores about,
A new toy? New clothes? There will be no doubt!
Plushies, slushies, or even a book,
So be quick to the stores, and have a look.

Perhaps with great luck, we can paint our Kau new!
Will it be Marble, Relic, even Pastel too?
No matter the colour, there will be great intent,
Even if you choose, to paint it Mutant.

We can visit Roo Island for the Merry-Go-Round,
Rides for cheap, how fun does that sound!
Where else can we go, on this wondrous day?
To the Academy of course, you don't have to pay.

We will have such a blast, on this day of the Kau,
Festivities await, it is not too late now!
There is much to do, no matter where you are,
Neopia Central, the plaza, or even the bazaar.

So to this we dedicate, a day to our friend,
In hopes that this holiday will never end.
And even when it is over, Kau day is forever near,
As it will return again, at this time next year.

The Kau Gardener

A Spotted Kau was gardening one day.
There was so much to do, no time to play.
He had gone to the store and bought some dirt.
It had special instructions, so he wouldn’t get hurt.

The Kau got home and began to dig.
He had several plants, both small and big.
He placed the plants in several holes.
The Kau was ready for it all to grow.

He was doing everything so very fast.
He wanted these plants to grow and last.
He grabbed the dirt he bought from the store.
The instructions weren’t read as they were a bore.

He opened the dirt with one of his horns,
And began to pour it on the rows of corn.
All of a sudden he felt kind of weird.
Something was wrong and he showed some fear.

Suddenly one horn began to grow.
It grew larger and larger as he yelled, “Oh no!”
He ran around with no options in sight,
So he tried to think with all his might.

The Spotted Kau looked down at the sack.
He read the instructions and took a step back.
“Be sure not to get on your elegant horns.
This will make them grow more and more.”

His horns looked weird as one was so big.
He wished he hadn’t used it to dig.
The Spotted Kau learned his lesson indeed.
No matter the hurry, he’d slow down and read.

Kauvara's Magic Shop

Within Kauvara’s Magic Shop
There is a secret door.
It hides a dingy stairwell
That leads beneath the store… 

As twilight falls and Neopia sleeps,
The mage descends into her keep.
There it waits, a dungeon dreary,
In her eyes, a sanctuary.

Here, by flickering candle light,
Kauvara’s spent many a night.
Casting spells and mixing potions,
Whipping up unique creations.

Her cauldron bubbles green tonight,
Simmering softly, glowing bright.
Gruslen’s whisker, Barbat’s wing,
One by one, she tosses them in.

The potion hisses, turns bright blue
Kauvara smiles to see its hue.
She picks up a vial and bottles it in,
Capturing the essence of magic within.

Slowly but surely, the morning sun breaks
Kauvara ascends as Neopia awakes.
The secret door remains hidden from sight,
Concealing the wonders that exist in the night.

I have got that special something
that will give you the right zing.

Mutant Kau Milkshake.
Intense flavour others can't fake,
it does take quite some effort to make,
plus a one good hour, give or take.

For starter, it requires 7 Mutant Kaus!
You don't believe me now, 
but once I show you how,
you will see, and I'd be ready to take my bow.

Give them hoof massage and each a milkshake,
brush their mane, get them in a happy state,
give those slithering body 7 shakes,
not too vigorous! I say this for your sake.

Done right, they will grant you curdy green glob,
filling your glass to the top.
Drink up, be sure to finish every last drop,
don't want to offend Kaus that give a mean bop!

But then again, on second look,
She seems to you a closed book.

My Best Friend Moo

So off we go,

down the street we hear a song,
it's my favourite band yes boy ice-cream,
I could listen to them all day long.

And her history she’ll share if you listen a while:
She once visited Faerieland to study magic
And was quite the student on that then-floating isle

But when she learned her family’s shop was in trouble
She packed up her bags and came straightaway home
“I can help if I try,” she said, quite undaunted
“I’ll be a great wizard without needing to roam!”

Her potions she makes in her simple back room
With cauldron, alembic, mortar, pestle, and flame
She turns strange ingredients into useful items
And over the years she's developed great fame

But her shop would still struggle without her great talent
And when she says “Someday, you see, I’ll go far!”
Her customers shake their heads with a smile
“To be a great wizard? That, you already are!”

For to do what you love is a single great boon

Wrapp'd in a Cosy Quilted Blanket
He'd rummaged through the Garage Sale
And bought himself some trinket

The trinket, in its brown paper bag
Impossible to guess
Though of course it was not my business
I was curious, I confess

I spied him drink a Slushie
Bought from a genial Eyrie -
Then purchase himself a Scratch Card
And nod to a Snow Faerie
 
He wandered through the Valley
And came onto the Rink -
There I passed him on the ice
Gave him a little wink

For the trinket the Kau had bought himself
I could now stage that guess
Had been a pungent Anchovy Loaf
I could smell it on his breath!

I stopped by the Neopian pound
To find myself a new friend
I couldn't believe all the choices!
It was a lot to comprehend

What kind of pet was I after?
What kind of pal did I need?
A spunky, energetic little Xweetok perhaps?
Or maybe a Poogle with speed!

A brave, loyal Lupe could make a good pet
Or a Gelert to fetch with all day!
Maybe a Grundo, Acara or Koi
Or a Uni who likes to eat hay.

As I searched and I pondered
Who my new friend would be
I noticed a new pet
One I had yet to see

She was quiet and shy
And looked soft as a cloud
Her brown fur was shiny
Her eyes big, wide & round

She was tucked in a corner
Staying out of the way
And I slowly approached her
Thinking up what to say

I smiled and told her 
"You have beautiful eyes!"
And I watched her face soften,
A pleasant surprise

We talked and we bonded
And the hours ticked by
I knew I couldn't leave without her
Just the thought would make me cry

So I asked her if she'd like
To come home with me
And be best friends forever
She was quick to agree!

It didn't take very long
For her personality to shine
