Random Contest Woes
By Cheopspyramid

Random Contest, Random Contest,
What will your next one be?
I have these ideas,
Wonderful ideas,
All bubbling inside of me.

One in the past required some dolls,
Neopet dolls, might I add.
Yet sewing was vital,
And as you may know,
My sewing is terribly bad.

So I tried again, the piñata one,
And I arranged it bit by bit.
But by the time I completed
The entire thing,
It looked like it had already been hit!

Random Contest, Random Contest,
Why are you so cruel to me?
I try my best,
But it's never enough,
And my skills never seem to agree.

A few weeks later I attempted again,
A message for an answering machine.
But the recorder fell over
And made a large crash.
Say "bye-bye" to my computer screen.

"One more time," I said to myself,
"How hard is it to make a Negg?"
But while painting around,
My hand slightly slipped,
And my project splattered all over my leg.

Random Contest, Random Contest,
Please make a simple one.
No more crafts,
No more art,
I want to have more fun!

"Caption Contest, please make one."
This shouldn't cause much dismay!
But I completely forgot:
I'm terrible at art.
Stick figures work, don't they?

My final time came: the Tongue Twister one,
"Tie your tongue in a knot!"
Too literal, am I,
So a knot I tied,
And now my mouth hurts a lot.

Random Contest, Random Contest,
Who needs you anyways?
Week after week
People create your things,
But I'm not following the craze.

The Pirate and the Seer of the Sea
By Schefflera

The Aisha Isca swam away
From home exploring on a day,
Up to where the sunbeams play,
A place forbidden New Maraqua's daughter.
A lad she saw, a handsome one,
An Usul hung beneath the sun,
Who struggled for his life above the water
And dangled from a cliff as day grew hotter.

Then he looked down and caught her gaze;
It lent him strength. His life was saved,
And Isca plunged beneath the waves
And swam back to her home beneath the water.
In later years the boy grew
And came to lead a pirate crew,
But still the lad recalled Maraqua's daughter,
And still the sight of him returned to haunt her.

A pirate's curse had razed her home;
Her people hid beneath the foam,
And Isca dreamed in nightly gloam --
The king for warning visions ever sought her.
But though they called him enemy,
This Usul roving on the sea,
A dream one day led up Maraqua's daughter
To save the pirate cast into the water.

A common foe did sail the strand.
While Garin went to find his band,
The Aisha's gift he kept at hand:
A necklace that would let him breathe the water.
Scarblade attacked with vengeful hate;
Maraqua fought what he called fate,
But Garin swiftly reinforcements brought her,
And helped to save Maraqua from the slaughter.

They won the fight; swift fled the foe.
The king gave honor high and low,
But Garin said that he must go --
The pirate captain left Maraqua's daughter.
He told her he would come again,
But had not long departed when
The waves too soon a bitter lesson taught her:
She found the necklace floating on the water.

Glowing Embers
By Artharol

A shadow creeps from 'hind the flame,
A flowing gown of embers; rain
Doth serve as adversary true,
And 'neath the red her mood is blue.

"Only isolation known,
I wait atop my glowing throne;
Her Majesty, she doth command
That I wait here at her right hand."

When 'tis not well below the halls
Of castle grand, the Crowned One calls
The sisters o'er the faerie world
To counter mischief now unfurled.

"With a heart both bold and true,
I take up arms with flames anew;
And when the Evil One doth strike,
My flames shall serve to hold the light."

But light, in this, is finite not.
The flames shall die -- the dark shall blot
The sky, and in some flame afar
Again, from molten rock and tar

Shall rise, with wings of fire strong,
A dress of dazzling embers long,
Reborn -- a flame apothecary:
Legendary Fire Faerie.

Nightmares
By Consciousxthought

Somewhere in the murky sea
Is a beautiful melody.
But this beauty tears apart
The crumbling pieces of my heart.

Nightmares haunt her sleeping hours,
Awake, her grief it wields its powers.
Silent she lay in the wide ocean,
Still she stayed in the constant motion.

All she wanted was to aid,
But her gifts its price was paid.
Seeing the future ruined her past,
Banished to the ocean vast.

Her only family already gone,
All her thoughts immoral and wrong.
And no-one saw in the dark and deep,
The one they've punished break and weep.

My Favorite Battledome Item
By Magrathea

Some pets fight with swords and slings,
Mirrors, motes and other things.
I have need for none of that --
Only my Invisihat.

It's funky, dapper, stylish too,
And helps me disappear from view.
My foes just don't know where I'm at.
How I love Invisihats!

I'll fade away from head to feet,
Until my vanishing's complete.
From here to gone in seconds flat --
Oh joy, for an Invisihat!

Think you're mighty? Think you're tough?
We'll see how you like blindman's bluff!
'Cause I'm one stealthy, silent cat,
Thanks to my Invisihat.
