The Quiggle of Monotony

Monotonous the great wheel turns,
Oh Quiggle, woe is me!
Time that drags on in my eyes,
Is endless though for thee.
Wearily do Quiggle's eyes,
Observe the turning sphere.
Silently he seems to ask,
Why he chose this career.

He could have been a Quiggle brave,
A flycatcher by trade!
Those who clean the lilypads,
Have also got it made.
Yet he's doomed to sit and watch
The endless spiral spin.
Lamenting fate and cursing choice,
Resentment dwells within.

Lethargic as the hours pass,
The days drift into night.
Yet he won't release his post,
(It just would not be right.)
Tyrannia, oh ancient realm!
A thrilling land to some.
Yet the Quiggle checks the time,
And gives a sigh. Ho hum...

Flycatcher

The Quiggle gazed upon the water,
The ripples glistened out wide,
His reflection sparkled out toward him,
But what was hovering over
The lake was what he eyed,

A buzzing assortment of colours shone
Out toward him so wildly,
As a collection of flies flew toward him,
Their wings slashing the air so mildly.

And then the Quiggle heard a noise,
A grumble from his belly, quite crude,
And his mouth watered with such delight,
As he gazed upon his food.

The grey flies may look dull,
But deep down the Quiggle knew,
That though the taste may be far from exquisite,
But they were by far the easiest to chew.

And so he began to stretch his tongue
To catch the delightful meal,
But then he quickly changed his mind,
As another fly had made him squeal.

Over on the right of the lake,
Was a small, blue, fuzzy group,
And the Quiggle knew of their beautiful taste,
As they went so well with soup.

And so he began to stretch his tongue

Wow, that went fast, he thought to himself,
Just like a racing game,
And although the red flies taste so bad,
It'd be good to practise my aim.

The Quiggle had never seen that fly,
The buzz so loud it rung,
But before he could even try to grab it,
The bee came forward and stung!

The Quiggle Club President

Within the Altadorian Archives,
Labelled on the dusty board
A list of all the clubs to partake,
A lengthy list you'll have to make
And to ponder, much time is spent,
For it seems they all have the same president!

It's a conundrum, to be sure,
How one divides their time,
Though this Quiggle is never late.
However, he does seems rather irate.
Herbalism, Mining, Underwater Basket Weaving,
Alchemy, Dance, Astronomy, and Engineering.

He's jack-of-all-trades, to be true,
With a wide taste of interest,
Though some of his clubs are rather bizarre.
You shouldn't have to search very far
For your perfect hobby dream fit --
The Club President expects you to commit!

Though not all Neopians are quite content
With this Quiggle's multitasking audacity.
The Astronomy Club was the Quiggle's demise;
They uncovered his Blumaroo disguise.
His club-ruling plans ended rather foiled,
His reputation now shady and spoiled

Quiggle Day Reminders

In varied plenitude!

Here's one weird fact you may not know:
A Quiggle cannot bite
A food that mentions "cream" in it,
Or else the Neezles strike!
