Mutant Apron
by Flufflepuff

Doctor Sloth and his potions
Turn Neopets to monsters,
But they can still find happiness
And truly become funsters.

Curved, frilly, multicoloured,
But by no means prissy,
Is the ticket to restore
The confidence that's missing.

Hang the apron 'round his neck,
Tie it behind his back,
He will get the urge to cook
Some stew until it's black.

His cooking may not be perfect
(Or edible at all),
Nonetheless, he takes pride in
His work, which will not fall.

Sweet and fashionable is the
Mutant who cooks for friends.
Soon, some other mutant 'pets
Will ask for apron lends!

Well-Dressed Is An Overstatement
by Momrozmus

My mom keeps trying to make me wear
these scratchy paisley pants,
with a Lavender Lace Jacket
and a top that's just too fance.

We dance this horrid tango
each day at seven sharp.
As I'm gearing up for Neoschool
that's when she leaves her mark.

This top-hat is preposterous,
covered in gears and brass,
and what's up with this ridiculous
Floral Bouquet Mask?

She whips out a pair of argyle socks
and sandals made of marrow,
and when she tries to thrust them on my feet
I bolt out like an arrow.

"I THOUGHT YOU LOVED YOUR MOTHER!"
is her shrill, resounding scream.
She flings barrettes like throwing stars
as I flee the scene.

Please, don't believe Mom's fervent claims
to sartorial passion;
she's just another wannabe,
creating crimes of fashion!

Neopoints Aren't Everything
by Chavo_guerrero

A pocket full of Neopoints,
A bank that overflows;
Peoples' idea of a dream come true,
Now why is that, you suppose?

There's so much more to do 'round here
Than wishing to get rich quick,
And here's a small itinerary
From which to take your pick.

There's games to play and trophies to win,
And some aren't hard to do,
Then you can look on with pride,
At your bronze, silver, gold... it's true!

Or, if you'd prefer a Gallery,
Why not a collection of things?
Take time to pick some exciting to keep,
Like plushies or flowers or rings.

How about something quite different?
A Battledome 'pet trained just right?
Get them some weapons and potions
So they're always ready to fight!

Maybe you're a bit of an artist?
There's the BC, AG, and more!
With so many special days,
There's always something to draw.

For writers there's plenty as well,
Let's not forget The Neopian Times,
There's also the story competition,
Or you could compose some excellent rhymes.

To customise is always popular,
Get all of your 'pets looking great,
And if you're lucky -- a trophy as well,
If your manage to get a top rate.

There's much more besides this, as well,
Neohomes, coding, and stamps,
Or chatting on the Neoboards...
Maybe give a good guild a chance?

Don't spend all your time wanting riches,
Wishing you had more to store,
If you try out a few other ideas
You could actually begin earning more!

I Can Fight Again
by Caseystick18

I equipped my sword,
My shining bow,
Upon my head
A potion I poured

I was chosen as the best,
I was supposed to win,
I had no backup
Lest I failed

I stepped into the ring,
My heart in my throat,
I wanted to conquer,
To please the king

He opened fire
And I ducked,
I knew I was doomed,
My situation dire

My health quickly dropped,
Zero never came so fast,
I didn't want to surrender,
But I had to opt

My master looked at me,
But she wasn't so mad,
She knew I had tried,
That was the best I could be

The Coffee Shop
by Meowclopspurrcat

The door chime rings as you walk in,
The Shoyru smiles like an old friend,
She motions to the counter with utmost delight,
She asks, “Would you like to take a bite?”

You nod and sit down,
Your heart filled with glee
From the warm scent of coffee, java, and tea,
You scan the plethora of drinks to buy...
There are so many; which will you try?

You ask the shopkeeper and her face lights up,
She holds up the House Blend --
"Would you like a cup?
Sourmelon Brew or Strawberry Spice?
I’ll let you sample whatever looks nice!"

You settle on the Earl Grey
And she pours you a cup,
Then your eyes turn to the stove
To see what she’ll cook up
“A Snowberry Delight?” she asks with a smile
She knows it’s your favorite;
She’s known for quite a while

You see, this Shoyru is very quick of mind,
She always knows just what to find,
Coffee is her specialty;
Pleasing patrons is her affinity!

So, next time you walk past
That bright coffee shop,
If you’re thirsty for some bliss,
Make sure to stop!
