Here I Am

Here I am at the computer once more,
Unsure what it was I used to do before.
Evenings, days, sometimes hours on end,
Feeding, caring for some virtual friend.

Then it hits me, that old game...
Neopets! That old site, I remembered its name.

I called up the page, even though
My original account was lost six years ago.
I remember playing in third grade,
And so, on a whim, a second account I made.

Everything still here, but changed,
Things the same, just differently arranged.

I understand that perhaps, maybe,
This site is a little juvenile for me,
But never mind, 
I've got a hungry Xweetok to feed,
Games to play, Neopoints to need!

I've got a house to decorate,
A whole childhood to regenerate!

Forgive me, I just might seem
Over the edge, a little extreme,
But all I search for in the site
Is nostalgia, in all its height.

All the fun I had when I was small
Is here for me to recall.

So, here I am, playing again,
After six years of refrain,
Revisiting all of the old fun
That I thought was surely over and done.

They restock and we shop,
A second to waste I shall not!

From borders to fences to frames,
The most intricate to the detained,
All these beautiful works of art
Will fit nicely for my sweetheart.

I ponder and think; what shall I choose?
Such a hard decision, but what have I to lose?
Something pretty, anything cute,
But nothing’s perfect to fill these shoes.

Alas! What a tragedy!
There must be a good wearable, certainly?
I have checked the shelves, checked the back,
But there must be something that we lack!

I lay my eyes on a shiny object
And ah, I can definitely see --
This is perfect, it’s beautiful!
I quickly grab it for my baby
