TUSKANINNY DAY SPECIAL

All In A Slushie Slinger Waitress Day's Work
by Sheynacruz

Every morning starts the same:
Head to marketplace at six
Buy Zeenanas, Jumbleberries,
Add Chokatos to the mix.

Next, a mad dash to the shop
(Tuskaninnies run rather slow) --
Turn the key, push the door,
Time to get on with the show.

Sweep the kitchen, mop the floor,
Rinse ingredients in the sink.
Scrub the counters, juice the fruits,
Blend some ice into the drinks.

Sanitize the drink machines,
Pour the slushie mixtures in,
Wash those flippers for hygiene,
Zeenana peels go in the bin.

Grab clean apron, roll up sleeves,
Check that hairdo's still secure.
It's time for the Tuskaninny
To open up her slushie store.

First wave of thirsty customers
Now surges through the open door;
She serves them all with practiced ease
But, to her dread, there's always more.

From dawn to dusk there are no breaks
As AC fans come jostling in,
All yelling orders, hoping to be
Heard above the awful din.

The crowd grows overwhelming now,
Too much for poor Tuskaninny,
Impatient customers can't wait
And soon depart, though still thirsty.

By the end of one long day
Slush machines have all run dry,
Once more, shop's in disarray,
Tuskaninny lets out a sigh.

Recycle empty slushie cups,
Ensure that things are (mostly) clean,
She's free to go... till next day brings
A fresh start to same old routine.

Cliffhanger
by Rielcz

There's a Tuskaninny
Atop Terror Mountain,
Delighting himself
In a popular game.

This fills him with glee
(Not a pool, or fountain),
He climbs the ice shelves
To victory's name.

In his eyes
Cliffhanger is fun;
Guessing a letter at
Risk to his life.

But, guess wise,
Or he may be done.
Down he'll go -- splat!
Yet he's not filled with strife...

He is the true mark
Of an adventurous wordsmith;
A daring 'pet on that ledge
In that sport most dire.

So, this Tuskaninny Day, embark
To play a game with
Intelligence; but, send him over the edge,
And an avatar, at least, you'll acquire.

A True Punk Tuskaninny
by Sugarypixiestix2

Does he care if he's a millionaire?
No, he thinks, money causes despair.
His clothes are unwashed and torn,
while his hair is sharp as a thorn.

When a Neopet gives him a mean look,
he will squawk at them like a rook.
Meridell is his one and only home,
which he really does love to roam.

Even in the summer he dons a jacket;
if you mention it he makes a racket.
He's a proud Tuskaninny and punk;
nothing he owns he considers junk.

Laughing at anyone who's mainstream,
knowing he'll never join their team.
Once he got a nose ring for kicks,
while on his way to buy drumsticks.

Twisted Roses is his favourite band,
their music is one he can understand.
This is a Tuskaninny who is unique,
and he'll never change his physique.

Fairfax The Deckhand
by Dr_tomoe

In the island of pirates
in the Warf Wharf hub,
there is a mysterious building
called the Food Club.

It seems normal, like
any other establishment,
but when you enter you see
it's full of gambling entertainment.

It's a hub where pirates
get together for a meal,
and visitors can try
to bet, wheel, and deal.

Twenty pirates play,
and for today's bet tracks,
the long-shot winner is
a Tuskaninny named Fairfax.

He opens at 11:1 odds,
which seem quite small,
considering he's against Scurvy Dan
and the legendary Gooblah the Grarrl.

Risky gamblers make their bets
on this unassuming deckhand
when the gates close, and soon
the eating gets out of hand.

When the plates are cleared
and the dust all settles,
Fairfax upsets the arena
with his sturdy pirate mettle.

Many grumble and complain
and the risk-takers cheer,
and Flat-U-Less Tablets are needed
before tomorrow's meal.

Rial The Red
by Flufflepuff

No one dares to cross his path
When he storms by, so fierce,
With words so strong, they cause the weak
To feel like they’ve been pierced.

Their hearts of clay, so soft, they melt
Under his icy stare.
But wait a while, and it will be
Like rage was never there.

Rial the Red they call the boy,
The Tuskaninny, true
To color and nickname alike:
No other name will do.

But when his temper ebbs away,
He’s not surprised to find
That he’s avoided like Scourgies:
Even by his own kind.

Perhaps, if he could learn to be
Less easily riled,
Others could look and see that he’s
Not always volatile.

A Simple Tuskaninny
by Rated_arr

I may not be very strong,
but I do my best to get along
with all the other Neopets.
I try to live without regrets, and yet
I can't peacefully rest.

For, you see (at least for me),
some days it's difficult to be
a simple Tuskaninny.
For my tail is rather small
in proportion to my body.
My tummy bears the weight,
causing me to swim quite oddly.

Upon my head, a bit of hair,
which I'm not quite sure belongs there.
My skin is slippery but soft,
and though I know I shouldn't fret, I oft
wish I could be a Uni.

I don't have hooves, I don't have wings,
there'll be no galloping for me,
or flying free;
just swimming awkwardly.

But, I suppose it's not so bad.
I shouldn't dwell over what I don't have.
I'm funny and I'm rather sweet,
a Neopet doesn't need feet
to bring joy to those they meet.

So, I'll be the best that I can be.
I'll just keep swimming, and see
exactly what becomes of me,
a simple Tuskaninny.

Cliffhanger Challenge
by Geneames1

High upon an icy bluff
The Tuskaninny stands,
Watching Neopets approach,
He waits with folded hands.

They come to challenge --
Some will lose, others still will win.
The Tuskaninny then proclaims,
"Let the guessing game begin!

Choose a letter. R, you say?
Sorry, there are none.
Take a step, then choose again.
Isn't this great fun?"

Then, in succession,
"A, G, S," the word is then revealed.
Gadgadsbogen? You are correct!
Your victory is sealed.

Step back from the precipice,
The Victor -- you played well.
You showed the Tuskaninny
You are a player who can spell!

Dance Of The Starry Tuskaninny
by Stellacatdog2

Tuskaninny, Tuskaninny,
Lying by the bay.
His eyes closed shut, his flippers tucked,
Sleeping there all day.
The sun is warm upon him,
The sand is soft below,
Slumbering so deeply,
Dreams of things we’ll never know.

The sea is crashing on the rocks,
Powerful and loud,
But he can’t be woken
From beneath his dreamy shroud.
The sea is calling out to him,
Beckoning him forth,
Alas, the Tuskaninny sleeps
As he has from dawn.

See, he is most honestly
A creature of the night.
When the sun goes down
Is when he wakens to moonlight.
Swimming in the ocean,
Splashing ‘neath the starry sky,
The second that he spots a fish,
Through the waves he flies!

But our friend here loves to play,
It is for what he’s born.
The dance of the Tuskaninny
Continues ‘til dawn.
The best moment of it all
Would really have to be
When he does an amazing leap
Right out of the sea!

And, for just that moment,
It’s as if he’s stuck in time,
Suspended in the air
Is a being so sublime.
The stars in the sky, shining
On the stars on his back.
The droplets of salt water
Shimmering in the black.

Then he’s gone again,
Just as if he’d never been there,
‘Cept you’d not forget that image
Of him in the air.
Unseen by the world above
From down there in the deep,
But it won’t be long to wait;
He’ll take another leap.

When the sun begins to rise
And as the moon retires,
The starry Tuskaninny
Goes to be a ‘lie-er.’
If you ever have the chance
To see him in the night,
Be sure to wait to see him leap
Into the moonlight!
