Yurble Day Special!

The Goparokko Yurble
by miraday

“This way now, take a left at the ruin,”
Whispers the Yurble legend of Geraptiku.
His cyan fur under the rainforest trees
Almost makes him look like a statue.
His emotionless maroon mask helps, too.
He carries a staff with colored blocks
And shakes it to the rhythm of birdsong.
“Come now, we have arrived at our spot,”
He announces after your arduous journey.
The Yurble gestures to a colorful table topped
With tiles, conspicuously sitting in the clearing.
“All this way for a NeoHome statement piece?”
You think silently to yourself, unbeknownst
Of its magical properties that lay waiting.

“See the colored blocks,
Foreigner in the forest,
And do as I do here.
Fighting against the clock,
Realign the one nearest.
Watch them disappear.”

Two by two, in groups of four, the tiles vanish
Into the humid, thick air of the jungle’s breath.
The Yurble shakes his staff and jollily laughs,
Inviting you to take a turn. You place your paw
On the board and move the pieces to connect.
The water-dial to your side guzzles down low,
Then the pieces match, and the water resets!

“Blessed rainbow pieces,
Beneath our watch you meet
The others of your kind.
Our knowledge increases
And our points do accrete
As if this was all designed.”

New colors appear as more blocks disappear,
And the Yurble gives you hints under his breath.
Time is at a standstill in the ruins of this land,
Yet the pieces blend and match as though planned.
Gradually, he merely watches you play the game
That he so graciously bestowed.
“This, my friend, is Goparokko.”

A Yooyuball-loving Yurble
by a_ramsell

She checks her cleats,
Pulling the laces tight.
She straights, stretching,
Ready for her big night.

As the only Yurble player
In this Altador Cup,
Moltara defender Vere Polnicek
Is ready to stir things up.

She grins at each of her teammates
While she straightens her jersey.
Vere loves the game of Yooyuball,
And she isn't plagued with worry.

Her optimism is infectious;
Her teammates return her grin.
Vere feels it in the air; tonight,
Moltara's going to win!

The Yurble's teammates gather 'round
As she beckons them near,
So the spunky little Yurble
Can lead her mates in a cheer.

The players yell and shout,
Pumping theselves up for the game.
They sprint onto the field,
And Vere hears fans calling her name.

Outwardly, she waves and smiles,
But this star defender knows
She's focused on her performance.

And then, the whistle blows.

Hey Yurble!
by happyinengland

Hey Yurble!
What have you got over there?
A treat or two,
Or something you'd like to share?

Hello there! I am Yurbot,
I am a creation of Dr. Sloth.
Do not get on the wrong side of me,
I have a short circuit, you see!

Hey Yurble!
What have you got over there?
A treat or two,
Or something you'd like to share?

Hello there! I am the Yurble Farmer,
You may recognise me from that Slorg game, remember?
They eat my lovely fruit, here and there,
I use my Slorgiriser to give them a good scare!

Hey Yurble!
What have you got over there?
A treat or two,
Or something you'd like to share?

Hello there! I am the Goparokko Yurble,
Named after the colourful game that causes some trouble.
Making patterns out of blocks,
I find my role absolutely rocks!

Hey Yurble!
What have you got over there?
A treat or two,
Or something you'd like to share?

Hello there! I am the Janitor,
I'm the most popular Yurble, front and centre.
I may yell and I may complain,
I'm a Neopet of many talents, skills to sustain.

The Tax Beast, Such an Angry Brute
by _brainchild_

The Tax Beast is a Halloween-
Hued Yurble whom you haven't seen---
At least, I hope. A grumpy fellow,
Moods of his are never mellow.

Stealing gold, he's on a roll.
Pure wealth and fame, his only goal,
Have left him turned into a beast.
He rips off ten percent, at least!

When angry, fur turns scarlet-hued.
As if he can't get much more rude,
He robs poor pets of double gold!
His actions are so mean and bold.

So, if you see this nasty brute,
You'd better run to keep your loot,
Since all the monster does is steal.
His crimes so rotten are unreal.

A Poem for Yurbles
by unarella

It can seem that Yurbles
Don't get a lot of press.
One very angry Yurble
Only cleans up others' mess.

Some are less known
In their chosen field;
Fighting for the Altador Cup,
Their efforts can yeild!

Volsan was a Sultan,
A Lost Desert King!
The Caretaker looks after
No longer living things.

So hold up your glass
And sing a great song,
For Yurbles of Neopia
Can be mighty and strong.

Just don't be tempted
To drop any litter,
For the Yurble Janitor
Is already too bitter!

The Yurble Janitor
by stmarshall

One swing, two swings,
We're starting strong.
Around we go,
It's up to you whether fast or slow.

Three swings, four swings,
Brooms to the ready.
Sweeping the floor,
Come on, perk up - it's not such a chore!

Five swings, six swings,
A flutter in your face.
What's this, a roaming petpet?!
The dirtiest little creature you ever met.

Seven swings, eight swings,
There's splotches of brown.
Is that grime and mud on the walls I see?
Not for long, I guarantee.

Nine swings, ten swings.
Coming full circle.
Picking up little and lint,
Scrub and dub until it's perfectly clean.

The Yurble Janitor wipes at his brow,
Everything is positively sparkling now.
Another day's hard work comes to a close,
Now it's time for him to change into new clothes.

Pretty Pink Yurbles
by she_chose_love

There were three Yurble teenagers,
names Wynn, Lynn and Finn.
There were different from their peers,
they didn't quite fit in.

All they wanted to do,
was play music and sing.
they couldn't focus on their schoolwork,
or much of anything.

So the three decided,
to start their very own band.
They named themselves the Pretty Pink Yurbles,
and aspired to to the greatest in all of the land.

They played concerts a plenty,
selling out show after show.
All of Neopia loved them,
that's just the way things go.

Their first year,
was beyond successful too.
They even had a book written to document their career,
there is a copy in the Magical Bookshop waiting for you.

The Pretty Pink Yurbles got busy,
with real life and other things.
So their band went on a hiatus after their second year,
that is just what time brings.

To this day they still enjoy,
playing music and spreading cheer.
The Pretty Pink Yurbles play a show on Yurble Day,
each and every year!

The Yurble Janitor's Plea
by kayahtik

Endless hours, endless days
All spent the exact same way
The Yurble Janitor enters the fray
In an attempt to keep the dirt at bay

Onwards the parade of petpets proceeds
With dust, grime, small bits of trees
Until the Janitor drops to his knees
“Please just wipe your feet!” he pleads

Somehow the petpets never hear
And despite his efforts to make them disappear
The Yurble Janitor will work all year
Scrubbing messes so severe

Perhaps someday he’ll find the key
Those muddy petpets will leave him be
But for now, to help, when him you see
Smile and give thanks to the one and only

The Yurble Farmer
by spukl1

The Yurble Farmer has a farm
S-L-O-R-G
And on his farm, he has some slorgs
S-L-O-R-G
With a brown slorg here
And a red slorg there
Here a green, there a grey
Everywhere a rainbow parade
The Yurble Farmer has a farm
S-L-O-R-G

The Yurble Farmer has a farm
S-L-O-R-G
And on his farm the slorgs eat everything
S-L-O-R-G
They go chomp, chomp here
And a chomp, chomp there
Here a chomp, there a chomp
Everywhere a chomp, chomp
The Yurble Farmer has a farm
S-L-O-R-G

The Yurble Farmer has a farm
S-L-O-R-G
He must drive away these little pests
S-L-O-R-G
With a slorgiriser here
And a slorgiriser there
Here a slorg, there a slorg
Everywhere a Slorgiriser
The Yurble Farmer has a farm
S-L-O-R-G

The Yurble Farmer has a farm
S-L-O-R-G
And on his farm, the Slorgs-B-Gone
S-L-O-R-G
With a slorg block here
And a slowdown there
Here a puddle, there a destruct
Everywhere special Slorg-B-Gone
The Yurble Farmer has a farm
S-L-O-R-G

The Yurble Farmer has a farm
S-L-O-R-G
And on his farm, he has some slorgs
S-L-O-R-G
They tried to eat all the marrows
But Mr. Yurble Farmer can do it better
Everywhere is protected!

Pirate Yurble, Just a burble?
by talekdolorn

Whoever said a Pirate Yurble,
Is nothing but a rhyme to burble,
Will soon be fearing for their lives
Amidst a flood of pirate knives.

For never are the waters calm,
Near isles of Krawk, adorned with palms -
Without a spyglass in your hand,
You'll meet your doom along the sands.

Atop the breaking waves at sea,
A pirate ship appears - take heed!
For captain old's come from afar,
Known only as the "Mahernar".

A cutlass sword to cut the mast,
While yelling to his crew "AVAST!",
The Yurble cap'n from down under,
's come for piles of gold and plunder.

Though gruff and old, he's brave and bold,
A gaze so stern it gleams with cold,
He calls himself the King of Thieves,
And you'll know why, before he leaves.

As he's the one to trick the great,
The one and only Cap' Scarblade,
Escaped his terrifying fleet,
Betraying Garin's Black Pawkeet.

Amidst the wars, his guile and cunning,
Has helped his tiny sloop outrun him.
He took the reigns of seven seas,
As the one true King of Thieves.

So there, my friend - leave while you can,
For rendered bare you'll be again,
Before you can begin to mumble,
You're robbed by just some random Yurble.
