The Flotato Stash
by Dreamingone

Mounds of Flotatos,
piles of Flotatos,
Jinny the Moehog stared.
They were sliced and mashed and seared;
there were Flotatos everywhere.

Who had gathered this enormous stash?
Who among us was so rash?
For what purpose had they all been gathered:
stashed away, for what purpose, so neatly
were they stacked, that it seemed impossible
that some poor Neopian did not know that --

at night, the Flotatos come out.
At night, they transform.
Whatever your stash,
wherever your hoard,
they multiply. Your once-tranquil town
becomes Flotato-infested.
Flotatos will haunt your dreams --
day and night, Flotatos are all you see.

From infancy, the Neopets are taught
to never, ever wake the Snowager.
Be careful in Neovia, be kind to faeries,
don't disturb the Turmaculus...
And, whatever you do, don't disturb
or create, a Flotato stash.

Visit Neovia
by Arkwright

Past the Haunted Woods and the caravan,
Down sheltered groves, the history began.
Through leaves, a glimmer of light up ahead --
Over the dying roots carefully tread.

Welcome to our little town, Neovia.
We hope you enjoy your stay over here.
Shoppes down the cobbled alleyways
And over the river little platformed gangways.

Gather 'round to bob an apple or two.
Maybe you'll find some treasure, a clue.
Lunch at The Crumpetmonger's cafe,
A wonderful torte and perfect soufflé.

Before you leave, be sure to have a suit fit,
So fabulous our fashion, you may as well quit
Trying to find something better elsewhere
And just return to the Neovian faire.

A museum or two; have you heard our history?
Not for the faint heart -- it's a wicked story.
Deceit and lies, and a poisonous plague...
It's a wonderful chapter within Neopia's pages.

Did you ever hear the story
Of Reginald and Bruno?
The monsters and battles, more than a rumour.
Red were the streets and fear aplenty;
I remember it well, though I was only twenty.

Much to offer is what we display,
So, visiting Neovia, you mustn't delay.

A Tribute To The Water Tower's Guardian
by Hrosanna

You're hovering silently,
Dull chrome and purple,
Optic lense shines silently.

You welcome us through the door,
Fedora dips, bows,
Three fingers raised in greeting.

Our gazes wash over you,
Surveying, cautious,
And your newly-opened cage.

We see tools coated with dust,
The air thick with grey,
A coat of long decayed years.

We advance to the panel,
You almost anxious,
We begin our quest for truth.

Red and green -- what do we choose?
Ancient conundrum,
Part one of five? Is complete.

Panel is sparking madly,
You hover, watching,
Secrets, as of yet, untold.

Looking over my shoulder,
We step out the door,
Leaving until tomorrow.

The Gross Food Buffet
by Tanyawebber

One day, I stumbled upon
a Gross Food feast.
The cake, ham, and pies
were infested with beasts!
The meat cakes and Worm Burgers
didn't take my fancy,
and the Fantastic Fly Pie
sure looked antsy!

One day, I lay eyes on
a Gross Food dinner.
With my lack of appetite,
I was sure to be thinner!
There were maggots wiggling
in all kinds of meat,
and the hot dogs, especially,
they tasted like feet!

One day, I fell upon
a Gross Food meal.
The sundaes were green
and topped with an eel!
Rotten Omelette and bread,
beetles and custard,
all these odd foods
I just could not muster!

One day, I spotted
a Gross Food supper.
The food looked all spongy
and the air smelt like rubber!
Even the pudding,
which I usually adore,
was chewed up and fried up
and squashed into the floor!

One day, I noticed
a Gross Food delight.
The Chocolate Fish
looked like it would bite!
There were lice in the rice,
flies in the fries,
if I said they looked tasty,
it would be a lie!

One day, I ran into
a Gross Food buffet.
There were strange things
mixed into some salmon souffle!
And the fish pops, oh my!
I must get away faster.
Who ever thought of adding
eyeballs to pasta?

One day, I avoided
a Gross Food hoard,
with its maggoty spuds
and its old apple cores!
I'm sure that some mutant
will find it with glee,
but I'll stick with sandwiches
for tonight's tea!

A Quest To Start The Rest
by Flying_kiki

Can you tell me where I'll find her,
This faerie that I seek?
It has been quite a fluster,
Searching this whole week.

She gave me her current quest,
A magic item, Nova, was its name.
I tilted my head and acquiesced.
This search would not be mundane.

I rallied my friends for an answer,
Was there a secret to be found?
The response was from a dancer:
This search will take you all around!

A trip to the Shop Wizard
Was what a few did suggest.
Go blaze the icy blizzard,
A snow faerie could help your quest!

They argued back and forth,
I was more confused than ever.
Do I go south or north?
Would I have this quest forever?

I saw, then, right beside me,
As I was thinking to myself,
A kind and polite Ixi
Who was keeping to herself.

She smiled at me sweetly --
I was nervous, I must say.
She had her fur groomed neatly
And I was right in her way.

I moved aside and smiled,
"I'm sorry to block the street!"
Her eyes and grin were mild,
"I can help you with your feat."

She led me to an unusual shop,
One that I had never seen,
Its door was about to pop
And the windows had a gleam.

"Welcome to my shop!"
The Ixi did reply.
"I've got everything but lollipops."
I could not help but sigh.

"I'm looking for a Nova!"
I yelled without a thought.
"Here, let's just move this ovah,"
She said and cleared a spot.

"I have one for you, friend...
It's a very special price."
I was worried for my pocket book.
"How much is the Nova's price?"

She laughed a bit then showed me,
I sighed with joy and relief.
She locked it up and gave me the key --
I paid her then stared, a moment of disbelief.

I grabbed the box and left there,
My new Ixi friend waved goodbye,
I handle my Nova with utmost care,
I was so happy I could almost fly!

I gave the faerie her request,
My heart gave quiet a flutter,
"Congratulations! You pass the test!"
And like that the quest was over.
