Negg Hunting Team

Soft, cushy thumps of small Cybunny feet
hopped through the yard without missing a beat.
Her large pink eyes gazing, nose lowered to the ground,
she lifted up her ears to try and catch a sound.

A faint noise could be heard - so messy and quick,
the undeniable sound of a "tck tck tck" -
"That's it!" the Cybunny exclaimed, her face lighting with cheer,
as once again she raised a long, listening ear.

Her eyes narrowed curiously as she held her breath steady,
she had to focus on the sound - she simply had to be ready!
Waiting and waiting, leaning in to the air...
"SQUAWK!" The sound exploded in her ears! It was over there!

Her bushy cotton tail wagged with pride
as she heard the loud squawk and hopped to her Petpet's side!
He was just around the corner! She hopped with great stride
as her smile stretched big and her heart swelled with pride!

Sliding around the corner, she waved at him with her paw,
but at the sight of the event, she couldn't help but guffaw!
Her faithful Kateil wobbling unsteadily on his feet
on top of a colorful Negg, which he had claimed as his seat!

The Cybunny giggled and gave him a pat,
gently moving her Kateil from where he had sat.
He cooed in pride as he glowed and he beamed,
"Good job!" the Cybunny smiled, "We make a great team!"

She scooped up the Negg with a glisten in her eyes
pawing over the plastic, imagining the surprise!
So vibrant and colorful, the Negg had been found
by having her Kateil take to the skies, and then squawk an alarming sound.

She grinned at her Petpet and cracked the plastic at its seams -
a wave of candy fell out, all sorts of chocolates and jellybeans!
The pair hopped up, they cheered and they gleamed,
then gulped the tasty treats down as a team!

Their basket full of empty Neggs, their tummies so full,
the two began to nod off in a sleepy lull.
The Negg Festival, although fun and surprising,
had tuckered them out - their need for a nap was rising!

Will you hunt eggs alone? Or perhaps in a pair?
Well, regardless of strategy, there is cheer in the air!
There's so many surprise Neggs nestled around

Month of Running 2016

The month of March is busy
with eight different celebrations.
So take this little "quizzy"
to build your Neo-knowledge foundations :D

A festival of fruit!
Mystery Island's main event.
Time to reveal the root
of the newest fruit's scent!

The first pet day of Running
might make a sound like "neigh";
had two new colours, stunning!
One is stealthy, one is clay.

This day is really sad
because no one ever cares;
it might be just a fad
but that's how this day fares.

The second pet of this month fair
also received new paint;
but the clothing in particular
is emo (with restraint).

A third pet, they keep coming,
with new paint and an outfit;
that's 6 new colors, summing,
as luck would have it!

This next event is fun,
with an avatar for grab!
With a doll on this one,
Bring an item that you nab.

The last pet of this March rhyme
has a cute pastel addition;
these pets occupy a concert hall,
for which you pay admission!

Could you guess all the holidays
I hinted at up there?
If not, to the calendar turn your gaze
To avoid too much despair :D

Coltzan, or, Disappointment

It'd always been a dream of mine
To visit the great old Coltzan's Shrine
The Neopoints! The fame! - of those I'd heard
The prizes really had me allured.
Seven days I traversed the desert
And when I arrived, I was barely alert
My lips were dry, my muscles aching
It's a wonder my Neopets weren't complaining...
But the Shrine stood tall and down we bowed
In hopes he'd look kindly and us, less proud
I waited awhile, a chill zipped through me
My Neopets' mood was less than gloomy.
A shriek in the distance, or did I imagine...?
My hands turned red, but "nothing happens."
Distraught and dismayed, I buy them a Neocola
Tomorrow, I guess, we'll try for the Tombola.

And The War Continues

A War with many sides
many facets, many factions
and guilds, and orders,
all partaking in destructive action.

Why do we fight, asks a pilferer,
for they don't pack any punch.
Why do we fight, asks a mummy,
who doesn't need very much.

To claim the power of the Obelisk,
claims the wise old men in taverns.
We fight for power, for gain,
and for the Oracle's favor.

But the Oracle is changeable,
mercurial as any air faerie,
and will offer new powers
to any who beats the current holder fairly.

Thus the war will never end,
because the Oracle decrees it won't
and we fight for power and fame
until the others can't and don't.
