Our Special Meridell

I know of a land, a beautiful land
A land so true and so fair
A kingdom, you see, unlike the rest
Oh look! I see it, There!
What is this land, and where could it be?
What place could be so swell?
The answer is clear as the sunshine skies,
In The Kingdom of Meridell!
Inside the merry kingdom,
You will find there’s much to do,
So have yourself some porridge,
Then explore a spot or two!
The Farm of Meri Acres, the best of all the farms,
Awaits your merry visit,
With its, merry, open arms!
It is impressive truly,
With abundant, bounding crops
But don’t quit after potato counting,
For there are so many more stops!
If berries suit your fancy, go on and Pick Your Own!
And The Rubbish Dump, however pungent
May hold great treasures unknown! 
But if you prefer the royal air
Of a castle, shining and bright
Visit King Skarl, for if you dare,
Guffaw, he just might!
But that isn’t all, there is more to be found,
All the things to be seen, as you wander around!
Bullseye, or Cheese Roller, you don’t want to miss!
If you’re feeling bold, give the Mortog a Kiss! 
Yes, only here in Meridell, this land so green and airy
 We love this Medieval land of fun,
 And so does one special Earth Faerie!
You know that you can find her here,
She’s dressed in shades of green
So pay a visit to that darling faerie, our sweet Illusen dear!
Illusen she is, and quests she will give, just stop by her glade
Complete the quest in the time you’re allotted 
And you might just find you’ve been paid!
After your adventure, perhaps you’ll have a snack,
Or see some unique petpets,
Have you met the great Turmac?!
All in all we love it so, our special Meridell!
You’ll find it is no mystery,
In fact, you know it well!
There is no land quite like this one, for none are quite the same
Our Meridell has character, this land of potato fame!
We love it well, in spite of all, though Darigan may hover,
We know the land of Meridell, a gem to discover!

Trade in Meridell

They say the trade in Meridell,
Is fair as trade can be.
With plots of land for farming,
As far the eye can see.

Come bring your silver coins about,
Or your turnips and your berries.
You’ll get an offer like no other,
Just ask the local faerie.

So what can we do for you today?
We’ve got potatoes and some cabbage,
But watch out for those nasty slorgs,
They’ll eat through like a savage!

Now if you have some gold to spare,
Then wait – look no further.
May I interest you in something grand?
A Draik Egg, if you’ll offer.

Ah yes, that’s fine, I knew you’d like it,
Though be careful with this now –
Once it breaks you’re out of luck,
There are currently none others to be found.

Can I get you something else my friend?
Perhaps a trinket for the road?
Please, take this token as a gift –
A little Mortog of a toad. 

If you’ve no more coins to spare with us,
Then go, be off, farewell!
Watch out for possible flying cheese,

Meridell: An Ode to Discovery

Meridell, a land so green and vast
You intrigue us with your interesting past.
Meridell, land of farms near and far,
Your subjects aptly ruled by the great King Skarl.
Meridell, your flag’s crown shines so bright,
The massive Turmaculus is quite a sight.

Meridell, you bring us potatoes and berries;
Illusen’s glen shelters wayward faeries.
Meridell, your hills adorned with rolling cheese,
You are sunny and warm and will never freeze.
Meridell, we celebrate your discovery with glee,
Though ye may be olde, we honour thee!

An ode to Meridell....from Darigan

A fresh breeze blows
like a song finely sung
even if the air carries
the slight aroma of dung.

Yes, the land of Meridell
under the rule of their king
as peasants work the fields
while the Kaubells ring.

Their food is home grown
Like marrows and bags of peas
though most goes to satisfy Skarl's
unending, unyielding gluttony.

And though most of the populace
wears fashionable potato sacks
Skarl keeps coming for them
to make them pay marrow taxes.

So many must Pick Their Own
since much goes to their sire
pity those stuck with old shoes
and bits of barbed wire.

But it's never enough
as Skarl makes the taxes steeper
even as he tosses food at others
kind of like a creeper.

Yes, today is Meridell's discovery
and there is one good thing I can
say that happened because of it
the additional discovery of Darigan.
