A Tour of Brightvale

Brightvale is home to the brightest and best,
Where knowledge is held higher than all of the rest.
On this day we celebrate its glorious founding;
No better way than to take a tour of its surroundings,

First we come to a shop called the Fruits of Brightvale,
We can select from many unique foods for sale.
Up next we will find the well reknowned Armoury,
There are many cloaks and capes and tunics to see!

At Brightvale Books we can increase our intelligence;
Let’s pick up an encyclopedia or two for reference.
At the Motery we’ll find motes in all shapes and sizes, 
You’ll never see an assortment as diverse as this!

The Royal Potionery can get quite expensive,
But their selection of tonics is very extensive!
Ancient magic adorns the shelves of the Scrollery, 
Maybe we’ll get lucky and find one for our gallery.

Stained glass stretches from the ceiling to the floor
At the Glaziers, handcrafted windows galore.
Here’s the Wheel of Knowledge, we can try our luck!
Boost our intelligence, or go home with a book.

Finally we come to the Brightvale Castle.
King Hagan lives there, constantly hassled.
We will muster up our courage to impart our wisdom, 
But alas, he scoffs us right out of the kingdom!

Now our tour is over, time to set sail,
Happy Discovery Day to the one and only Brightvale!

It scintillates and glows.

A shining golden star is stitched
Upon a flag of white.
This banner really takes the cake,
So shimmering and bright.

Over the hills and far away, 
we come to a city by the bay,
of scholars and study, theologians too,
With a wise old King, Hagan's his name,
Brightvale, a name for the city to claim.

A Place to trade knowledge and insight,
A Place to learn before you revise,
A Wheel of Knowledge, and the scrollery,
A Place to find the latest ancient ruins.

Brightvale is the place to be,
for learning camping traveling too,
Brightvale will teach you something you did not know,
for competing, for winning, for trading, or re-selling,
Brightvale will give you an answer today.

A Few rules to be told,
To access the ancient knowledge,
You must impress the King,
Don't let him go cold,
And if your nice, and polite too
Brightvale may just have a certificate for you.

The Wheel of Knowledge

'Tis a wheel of splendor, 
Inlaid in intricate stained glass
Kept carefully by Miles, the Draik attender
He shines, oils, and polishes- yet, alas-

No amount of care and upkeep
Can vanquish the anguished cries
Of frustrated wheel-spinners
Whose eyes are set on just one prize

A golden-tipped star, an emblem, it shines
Lures, taunts, and teases
When the wheel narrowly misses it
As it slows its daily wind

A free spin is no consolement,
Nor even wisdom, a prize
Touted and revered by scholars
Yet for most it's no compromise

For an avatar is what they seek,
The masses who spin Brightvale's wheel
And until you've spun the eight-pointed star
The agony- the wait- is very real

Among all the shelves

There are books about everything
In this store.
From Brightvale architecture to manuals,
And even about wars!

In fact, 
When I first walked in
I was so overwhelmed
But the shopkeeper helped me
With the friendliest grin.

Finally,
The shopkeeper helped me settle with a couple of titles
Like about Brightvale’s history and the clever King Hagan!

But the most important book
That he helped me take out
Helped me write this poem
Without a doubt.

That book was Advanced Poetry.
And right after I finished reading it
I knew I had 
A poem to submit!
