Ghost Lupe's Sad Tale
By __Suteki_da_ne__

Waiting, waiting, year by year,
as centuries turn to dust;
here's a ghost you shouldn't fear,
whose tale is so unjust.

Waiting through each season
in a wayside lane,
for a simple reason --
loneliness and pain.

Will you see him as you pass,
Ghost Lupe, standing there,
'midst the hedges and the grass?
His life was so unfair.

Waiting, waiting, year by year,
'til winter has begun,
or when the spring is drawing near,
through rain and wind and sun.

Far away the birds may fly,
'cross clouds, 'neath skies of grey --
hear the ghostly Lupe's sad cry.
Oh, why must the Ghost Lupe stay?

A Meeting with the Pant Devil
By Catseye1071

While walking down a lonely road,
The moonlight falling on my face,
A shadow slipped among the leaves,
Then was gone without a trace.

I spun around, to no avail,
There was nothing to see,
But when I turned around again,
There it was in front of me.

Figure bathed in moonlight pale,
Eyes of burning ruby red,
Like crimson wine sipped from a grail,
It grinned the grin so many said,
Made the fresh night air turn stale.

He beckoned, and I gave to him
The item I worked hard to buy,
He grinned again and turned to go,
Then vanished in the woods and I
Shivered as it 'gan to snow.

Vanity
By Santarosa

The song that she sang in the field of despair,
The story she wrote in the eyes of the rare,
Her tale is so common, so sad and so cold,
Her legend is epic in the brave and the bold.

Her beauty was told for those in the end,
Her lies were so broken for no one could mend,
She thought that her splendor
Would make others hide,
She felt that the faeries were dark on her side.

She cried and denied what others would say,
She acted like it was they who would pay,
Her wish was just one --
To have the most charm.
She felt it was true, but need not an alarm.

Her heart became broken, a lost devil soul,
Her body went twisted, an impossible toll,
Her face was distorted, her mind was so mad,
The pain made her long for the beauty she had.

But she wouldn't stay in the back of the room,
She needed others to suffer the same doom,
Her anger drove her to hate all the rest,
Her anguish made her fail Neopia's test.

She never wanted to save anyone,
She broke and twisted the rays of the sun,
She wanted them to fall with the ocean's tide,
How could they be happy,
While she sobs on the side?

Useless was joy and pointless was bliss,
All those good feelings, she hardly would miss,
But there's a common true myth
In this story so sad:
She's still with us, whispering vanity to the bad

Dance of the Darkness Faeries
By Laurelinden

Moonless night and starless sky!
Trembling faerie light does fade,
Milky-weak against the night.

Black rain scent and brittle bough!
Earth Faeries bend grass blades to bow;
Release unseen perfumes.

Moaning wind and distant cry!
Air Faeries stir the shadowed bows,
And in hushed voices hum the night.

Drop of moisture, running stream!
Faerie water rushes down,
Tumbling black over the rocks.

Feeble crackling, futile glow!
Candle-thin Fire Faerie light,
Extinguished in a breath.

For now, the time of Faerie Dark!
Beneath no moon, no sun, no star;
Your powers are nightmare born.

Goodbye Sniffles
By Really_awesome_d00d

My name is Lirasella;
Please, hear out my tale
Of sadness, tears, and tragedy,
And of devotion doomed to fail.

This is the story of Sniffles,
My precious Snicklebeast.
The loving, curious ball of fluff
Who became a fat Turmac's feast.

It all began one sunny, cheery day
In the lush land of Meridell.
I was finishing my daily business
Before on the horizon, the sun fell.

After reciting wisdom to King Hagan
And entertaining old King Skarl,
I'd taken a spin at Brightvale's wheel
And guessed the weight of the Marrow.

Only one task was left to be done
And to the Turmaculus I went,
With Sniffles tucked in my loving arms,
And my intentions all well-meant.

I told Sniffles to tap the beast
With a wooden stick I'd found.
But as he did so, Turmy let out a roar,
And arise did he from the ground.

Sniffles, frightened, ran to me
But it was far too late
Into the Turmac's jaws he went;
The monster's hunger he would sate.

I cried out in anguish and deep sorrow;
Oh, what had I done?
If only I hadn't brought him here,
If only fast Sniffles could run!

I thought all hope was lost for him
And for Sniffles I wept,
And as I loosed my unbridled sorrow
That stupid Turmac slept!

Powerless was I to stop
The flow of time and fate.
Goodbye Sniffles, I am so sorry
But it was just too late.
